As I posted back in July, Warner Bros will be holding a special event at The Wizarding World of Harry Potter from November 11th-13th. Today they have issued a press release announcing the tentative cast and crew attending the event. The list could change meaning some cast members may not be in attendance and some may be added.
The release of “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows – Part 2” will also be marked by a special celebration at The Wizarding World of Harry Potter at Universal Orlando Resort, where the Harry Potter stories live on. TheHarry Potter Home Entertainment Celebration will consist of a series of special events to be attended by cast and filmmakers from the Harry Potter films. The three-day celebration will take place from Friday, November 11 to Sunday, November 13. Cast and filmmakers expected to be in attendance include James and Oliver Phelps (Fred and George Weasley), Warwick Davis (Professor Flitwick, Griphook), Evanna Lynch (Luna Lovegood), Mark Williams (Arthur Weasley), David Bradley (Argus Filch), Jessie Cave (Lavender Brown) and many more to be named later*.
Earlier this morning James Phelps launched an official Facebook Fan Page for himself after being tired of the fakers. This is his one and only Facebook page so if you see any others, they aren’t him! Become a fan by going to this link!
Just as a quick side note; most of the Potter stars DO NOT have Facebook pages (and if they are they are SUPER private and don’t add fans) so if you add one on Facebook be aware that it is most likely a fake. There are, of course, actors with Official fan pages like Emma Watson, but the majority don’t even have that.
Finally I have uploaded the rest of my coverage from the Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part II London premiere. You can see all the photos in the gallery (do NOT take without linking back to magical-menagerie.com). Watch the videos below:
Thanks to Digital Spy we have videos of the full London press conference for Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part II which was held on July 6th. Watch below and enjoy, there is some strong language and spoilers.
Rte Ten is offering fans a chance to win tickets to the Irish premiere of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part II on July 9th and also to attend a meet and greet with the cast. Evanna Lynch along with James and Oliver Phelps will be in attendance.
To enter you have to answer a simple question on their website by July 6th. It doesn’t say you have to live in Ireland but transportation is not provided.
Parade has posted a new interview today, this time with James Phelps where he discusses his character Fred. BEWARE: the interview contains spoilers if you haven’t read the books!
On filming his character’s death scene.
“It was surreal. I feel like a really close friend has died. It was more like a Saving Private Ryan scene than Harry Potter, so it was kind of cool, because every guy wants to be in an action movie and that’s what this is. But I pretty much just laid there and fell asleep. I think it was more of a challenge for the other guys than me. Rupert [Grint] and Oliver [Phelps], they really upped their game for that one. Hopefully people will like how it’s been done.”
On how his real-life brother, Oliver, handled the dramatic scene.
“I think that it was an emotional day for everyone when we shot Fred lying there. We did about five takes total, and then Oliver was done because it had emotionally drained him. It’s really hard to put yourself in that position and imagine that kind of thing.”
On seeing the series come to an end.
“We always thought that we wouldn’t know what it would be like until we were on the promotional tour, so now it’s starting to really sink in. I think the London premiere is going to be quite emotional.”
