Ralph Fiennes: Clash of the Titans

I’m sure most of you have heard of the new film Clash of the Titans that will be released on April 2nd. The movie stars Sam Worthington (Jake in Avatar) as Perseus. There is also a Potter star in the film that you may know about (a bit of sarcasm for you); Ralph Fiennes!! Ralph who plays Voldemort in the Harry Potter films will be playing Hades! Rupert Grint: NO Magazine Scans!

If you don’t live in New Zealand and wish to own a copy of the magazine head to this link to see how to get yourself one! He doesn’t talk much about Harry Potter but here are a few segments:

Grint admits he did have concerns about playing such a role, given for the most part, he only played a mixture of “Scared” and “awkward” in his years as Ron Weasley. “It was quite daunting, actually,” confesses the softly spoken actor. “But as the Harry Potter movies have gone on, there has been more in them and my character has developed more. But up until recently it was just me playing this scared guy, with the odd light-hearted line. I never got to push myself, so I was quite worried about doing Cherrybomb because there’s a lot going on with this character, it was a real challenge.”

It was by “fluke” that Grint even sent in an audition for the movie that would irrevocably change his life. Even after he landed the role, it was some time before he started to take the job seriously, or to see it as a job at all. “I mean, it never really occurred to me that it was a job when I first started,” he shrugs. “It was just this fun thing I was doing at the moment. But I suppose it was a few films in really, about film three or four, when the process became clear and it felt like the playtime was over, that it was actually quite hard work. I suppose it was then that I really knew I wanted to keep doing this. I loved it, I was having such an amazing time.”

Having been there for each other from the beginning, the three stars of Harry Potter have formed close ties with each other, though as their on-screen time together draws to a close, Grint furthers that they may have to let each other go in real life to a degree as well. “We are all quite different and all have our agendas on what we want to do,” he says, “but we have been through quite a lot with each other. It’s been a long time and its quite and intimate process, filming together for so long, because you see each other all day every day, so you form close bonds. WE’ll definitely keep in touch when it’s all over but we don’t really see each other outside of filming.”

Earlier today SnitchSeeker was able to interview Percy Weasley actor Chris Rankin about Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows! “Chris talked in depth about playing various aspects of Percy throughout the series, from pompous prefect, to family traitor, and back to redemption (and which he enjoyed portraying the most); and hanging out with fellow Weasley costars Julie Walters, Mark Williams, Rupert Grint, Bonnie Wright, and James and Oliver Phelps.”

Bill Nighy Talks Playing Rufus

At the First Light Movie awards last weekend, Bill Nighy spoke about role as Rufus Scrimgeour in Deathly Hallows and Wild Target.

“It’s a big massive friendly set and I grew up with most of the people in it, so it was a bit of a reunion.”

“I was very pleased to be in it and pleased to work with Daniel, Rupert and Emma and with David Yates the director.”

“The three of us are in a film called Wild Target where I play an assassin and Rupert plays my apprentice.”

JK Rowling Voted Ideal Role Model

In a new research study done by The Co-operative Financial Services (CFS) they found that JK Rowling is the most inspirational entrepreneurial female role-model for young women in the UK.

The Harry Potter author came out top of the survey, ahead of other respected names such as Stella McCartney and TV’s Dragon’s Den star, and successful business-woman, Deborah Meaden.

The research – inspired by International Women’s Day on 8 March – also revealed that 75% believe it is more difficult for women to get ahead in business while more than 80% felt they needed to work harder than men to get ahead.

However, more than 90% felt that positive female role-models will help to pave the way for more young women to reach their full potential.
