Emma to attend DVD Launch
Posted by Megs

According to Emma Watson’s official website, Warner Bros. will be holding a press launch for the Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix DVD on November 3rd.

They also state that “you may like to know (call it a hunch) that Emma will be attending this event.”  The DVD will be released on November 12th in the UK. Jo, the wemiss, feels the pain of those of us in the US who have to wait until Dec. 11th for the DVD (I am so mad still).

Patrick Doyle Discusses his Leukaemia Battle
Posted by Megs

Patrick Doyle, the composer for the Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire soundtrack, has recently discussed his battle with leukaemia.

“I rang Ken (Branagh). He came to visit twice a week while I was ill. He would help the hospital staff make tea, and bring in tapes and books for me.”

“Emma Thompson rang from Hollywood when she heard the news. She’d just had an MRI for a back problem and had me in stitches when she said the radiologist handed her a script he’d written and asked her to read it, adding that she was too old to play the lead role.”

“Timothy Spall had not long recovered from AML himself, having been diagnosed a year or two before, and he helped me lots with advice and encouragement. He’d say: “How’s the diarrhoea? I know, I know. And he did, because he’d been through it.”
