Menswear store makes shirts & ties for Deathly Hallows
Posted by Megs

The Huddersfield Daily Examiner is reporting that Laurie Hopkins Menswear was asked to make shirts and black ties for the Deathly Hallows movie! Michael Hopkins, a partner in the business, said:

“The costume department on the film wanted the shirts for some police or soldier-style characters. They found them on our site and the call came three months ago, but we kept it to ourselves. They were asking how many we could supply and the number they required was over 100. They took delivery six weeks ago and they’ve just given us another order for 25 more, as well as 80 black ties.”

“They were very easy people to work with, absolutely excellent. I was interested to see that when they sent a payment the account is made up in the name of the film. There’s no little subsidiary, it very clearly says the account is Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows. The fact that they came back and asked for more must mean they’ve been happy with the service we provided. I’m hoping that we’ve built up a bit of a rapport with them and it might lead to more.”“Who knows”?

Times Online Talks to Tom
Posted by Megs

Times Online has a new interview with Tom Felton where he discusses his significant others, those he names as significant others are (with portions of what he said about them):

  • My mum – At one point I got a part that required filming in Malaysia for four months, so she had to give up her job to come with me. It didn’t mean anything to me at the time, but I hope that in years to come I can repay her.
  • My one and only girlfriend -Jade is my soulmate and I get on with her better than anyone else. We fell in love on the set of Half-Blood Prince [she was the stunt co-ordinator’s assistant] and have just celebrated our 21-month anniversary.
  • My brothers – I was the runt of the litter, so I never got to sit on the couch or watch any of the TV programmes I liked. Now our relationship is high on banter, although the times when we are together are few and far between.
  • My dog – My mum never let us have a dog when we were younger – which, in hindsight, I don’t blame her for – but the first thing I did when I got a house was buy a puppy.
  • My inspirational director – I had no confidence in my ability to be an actor for the rest of my life, but he embedded a passion for film in me.
  • My best friends – Everyone used to ask me what my friends thought of Harry Potter and I always felt I had to say they loved it, but I can finally admit that they didn’t have any interest in it whatsoever. But that worked really well for me because, when we met, I could forget about what I do and just be normal.
