In a new interview with BANG Showbiz, Rupert Grint talks about how his life will be after Harry Potter.
He told BANG Showbiz: “It is weird I suppose. I’ve not known any different… it’s the way I’ve grown up. You get used to it. It’s weird – like having a big home movie. If the old films are on TV I’ll glimpse slightly, but I’ve never watched one all the way through.”
The 21-year-old star admits he is concerned about being typecast by the series which is why he decided to take on a completely different role in his new comedy ‘Wild Target’.
He said: “I guess it was one of the reasons I did ‘Wild Target’ because it was kind of a way out… ‘Harry Potter’ is coming to an end, it’s the last one, then it’s all done. It’s a weird feeling because we’ve been so long in this bubble and now we have to walk away from it all. It’s important to do different things and stretch out.”
Rupert also compared his transition through the movies as “graduating” through school and coming out the other side a better actor. He said: “I hope so, I didn’t know how films were made at first, so you just learn as you go, like a school and all the amazing people you’ve worked with, and now it’s like graduating.”

Inside the Magic has a report, photos and videos from the Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey ride at the Wizarding World of Harry Potter.
Unfortunately, the ride was only open for long enough for a handful of guests to enjoy it today before it shut down due to technical difficulties. This time, rather than closing off Hogwarts Castle completely, Universal left it open for guests to experience what they called a “castle tour.” So I was able to walk through the entire attraction’s queue and see all of the amazing scenes they have created. Even though I didn’t get to ride, I still feel reasonably fulfilled as the queue is like a walk-through attraction unto itself. Scene after scene offers so much entertainment that I didn’t even realize I had been in there for more than an hour this morning before finding out the ride was not running. The queue is definitely part of the experience.
