Today (in the UK at least), April 15th, we celebrate Emma Watson and Emma Thompsons birthdays! Emma Watson is celebrating her 19th birthday.

Emma Thompson plays Trelawney in the Potter films and she is turning 50 years old today!

Happy Birthday Emmas!!!!

In a new interview with MTV, Emma Thompson announced that she will not be returning for the Deathly Hallows films.

“I’m making my own ‘Nanny McPhee’ next year. They mean much more to me. The Harry Potters are great big franchises that are something I’m not emotionally attached to or necessarily particularly creatively attached to,” Thompson explained. “That’s more like doing a turn, whereas the Nanny McPhees are something I’ve written. The art is in those films, they’re very handmade, they’re something that’s very close to me. Those are the ones I really care about.”

A repesentative at Hamilton Hodell, the agency that represents Emma Thompson, there will be no Sibyll Trelawney in Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince.

“She is not in the half blood prince.”

As I posted earlier Patrick Doyle held an event tonight called ‘Music from the Movies‘ in aid of the UK’s leading blood cancer charity Leukaemia Research.  Kenneth Bragnah, who played Lockhart in Chamber of Secrets, hosted the event.  Other Harry Potter stars also attended, such as; Emma Thompson, Alan Rickman, Imelda Staunton, Mike Newell and Robbie Coltrane.
