Total Film has released another preview of their interview with Daniel Radcliffe. The interview will be in the next issue of Total Film which will be released tomorrow.
When we asked if he missed Gambon’s presence, Radcliffe responded: “Yes – those scenes with the two of us [in The Half-Blood Prince] were the most fun scenes. We shot them all in a period of about two months right at the beginning of the film. We were working together almost every day and it was great. But it was tough because there’s so much information to get across, and those scenes go on for the whole book. We had it all condensed into two scenes, pretty much. But The Half-Blood Prince wasn’t my favourite installment overall…”
Why is that? “I just hated my performance,” Radcliffe told us. “The film was good, but it’s a huge amount of exposition. I think it’s the most beautiful of all the chapters… but [it’s] basically about setting up number seven. I just wasn’t very happy with number six in terms of my own performance.”
In a new interview with Digital Spy, Daniel Radcliffe talks about why he acts. This came about because he was not nominated for this years Tony awards for his performance in How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying. He was, however, nominated for the Best Leading Actor in a Musical award at the BroadwayWorld.com award, vote here.
He added: “I think I speak for 99% of actors when I say that… while it’s lovely to get recognized by your peers, it’s not the reason why we do it. The people that do this job for awards and recognition are kind of worshipping at the wrong altar, and I’m not really quite sure if I want to know those people.”
