Hamptons.com is reporting that Daniel Radcliffe will be serving as Master of Ceremonies at an event for middle school children on June 6th.
[…] hundreds of students from middle and intermediate New York City Public Schools in Brooklyn, Bronx, Queens and Manhattan get their Broadway debut at the Shubert Foundation/MTI Broadway JR. Student Celebration at the Majestic Theatre (245 West 44th Street) on Monday, June 6 from 10:30 a.m. to 12 noon.
Each school will perform a song from their production of a student version of a classic musical, including “Annie JR.”, “Once on this Island JR.”, “Seussical JR.”, Disney’s “Aladdin JR.”
The special Broadway performance is the year-end culminating celebration of the Shubert Foundation/MTI Broadway JR. Contact Music has posted another short interview, this time with Julie Walters and Daniel Radciffe, I believe this is also from the latest issue of Empire magazine which is FULL of interviews, so be sure to pick it up [see some scans here]. There are spoilers for those of you that haven’t read the book.
“‘Deathly Hallows: Part 2’ is Mrs Weasley’s big moment. She’s right in the middle of the Battle of Hogwarts. Before we’ve seen her as a sweet mum, even though she is a wizard. But you see another side to her. And she has one of the most famous lines in the books. Everyone wrote to me and said, ‘I hope they’re not going to take that out, are they?’ ”
Julie’s co-star, Daniel Radcliffe – who plays the titular wizard character – said he is also glad the family friendly film series allowed the line, as it’s pivotal to the high emotions of the series’ final battle. He said: “I’ve always been very against any swearing in these films and I don’t know why because I swear so much in my real life, but if the, ‘not my daughter, you bitch!’ line is in the book, then that’s fine.”
A new commercial for the MTV movie awards has aired where Daniel Radcliffe is preparing to go on stage for How To Succeed in Business Without Really Trying and is interrupted. Don’t forget that Harry Potter and its stars are nominated in multiple categories, so be sure to vote!
