The first trailer for the animated film, Postman Pat: The Movie, which features the voice talents of Potter alum David Tennant, Rupert Grint and Jim Broadbent has been released online! The film, which is about a veteran postman who finds his beliefs challenged after he enters a TV talent show competition, will be released in the UK on May 23rd.
What happens when Light meets Dark? When kindness meets selfishness? When local fame meets global notoriety? A nice cup of tea is kicked aside by a frappacappucino? Everyone’s favourite postie, Postman Pat, comes face to face with the dark side of the fame dream when he enters a national TV talent show and the demons of money, status and a new shiny suit conspire to tear Pat away from his friends, family and the small home town which loves him.
In a new fully 3-D, stop frame animated movie – for 3-8 year olds and their families – the much adored children’s TV icon, Postman Pat hits the big screen for the first time and is faced with challenges he’s never met before which really test him. With newly composed super powered pop songs, brand new sets and a host of new characters alongside the beloved favourites, Postman Pat The Movie is set to enthral a whole new generation of children and have them on the edge of their velvet cinema booster seats in their pint sized 3D specs – just like Pats! Spectacular!

SnitchSeeker released a brand new clip from Bonnie Wright and Freddie Stroma’s newest film, After The Dark, today. The clip shows “the beginning of the Philosophy class, where the students, including Bonnie and Freddie, throw out some philosophical ideals to their professor.” The film was originally called The Philosophers, and is being released in theatres, iTunes and Video On Demand this Friday. An outline of the plot is as follows:
At an international school in Jakarta, a philosophy teacher challenges his class of twenty graduating seniors to choose which ten of them would take shelter underground and reboot the human race in the event of a nuclear apocalypse. – Official Facebook
[…] a group of college students who, when faced with the hypothetical scenario of nuclear annihilation, must determine which half of them can take shelter underground — with room for only 10 people — to survive and reboot the human race. The excruciating decision quickly becomes deadly as each student must accept their fate — or fight for their own survival. – ET Online

The Sunday Times posted a preview of an interview Emma Watson conducted with J.K. Rowling for the newest issue of Wonderland magazine, which she (Emma) guest edited. In the interview Rowling discusses Ron and Hermione’s relationship. Not much is said in this preview but we can probably expect much more information in the full issue. The issue will be released on February 7th.
She said: “I wrote the Hermione/Ron relationship as a form of wish fulfilment. That’s how it was conceived, really. For reasons that have very little to do with literature and far more to do with me clinging to the plot as I first imagined it, Hermione ended up with Ron.” […] “I know, I’m sorry,” she continued, “I can hear the rage and fury it might cause some fans, but if I’m absolutely honest, distance has given me perspective on that. It was a choice I made for very personal reasons, not for reasons of credibility. Am I breaking people’s hearts by saying this? I hope not.”
Emma Watson: “I think there are fans out there who know that too and who wonder whether Ron would have really been able to make her happy.”

Another panel at A Celebration of Harry Potter was Set and Prop Design of The Wizarding World of Harry Potter. In this panel Art Director Alan Gilmore and sculptors Bryn Court and Eric Baker discussed creating/recreating the props for the theme park. Most of the pieces are exact copies of the props used in the film while a few props (like the Defense Against The Dark Arts Blackboard) are directly from the set. James & Oliver Phelps made a special appearance to show off a couple of the Weasley’s shop props. A quick piece of their panel may be watched below.

Graphic Artists Eduardo Lima and Miraphora Mina, who own the company MinaLima, had a panel at A Celebration of Harry Potter and today we have the footage from that session. The two designers discussed how they went about designing all the props for the Harry Potter films and even shared some pieces that didn’t make the final cut or weren’t fully shown in the films. They also teased that some of their designs will be found in the new Diagon Alley expansion.
