Since we will not have our actual photos and videos up for a few days I thought I would let everyone know what is coming from the Grand Opening of Warner Bros. Studio Tour London – The Making of Harry Potter. Myself, Feltbeats and Harry Potters Page worked together to get photos and interviews with the stars.
We interviewed Tom Felton, Rupert Grint, Bonnie Wright, Harry Melling, Nick Moran, David Bradley, Nick Dudman, Mike Newell, Director David Yates, and Producers David Heyman, and David Barron. We also have footage of Alfonso Cuaron, Evanna Lynch, George Harris and a few others. In addition to interviews we also spotted David Thewlis, Natalia Tena, Warwick Davis, Alfie Enoch, Helen McCrory, Chris Rankin.
Just as a teaser we asked Harry Melling (Dudley) what it was like moving from playing a muggle in Harry Potter to a wizard in the last series of Merlin!
Photos and video will be up as soon as possible when I get home! We will also have a video from the press conference held last Thursday when WB sends it over! So make sure to stay tuned!
The Jameson Empire Awards were presented tonight and Matthew Lewis, Bonnie Wright, Evanna Lynch, David Yates, Gary Oldman, Jamie Campbell Bower and Helena Bonham Carter were in attendance! Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows won Best Film and “Best Film Presented by Sky Movies” with David Yates winning for Best Director. Gary Oldman also won Jameson Best Actor, and his film Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy won for Best Thriller Presented by Café de Paris.
Some photos from the event may be viewed at Empire’s website. I will also post more videos from the event if and when they appear online.
Digital Spy has posted a video montage where they talk to multiple stars and ask what movie they think will be the best out of ‘The Avengers’, ‘Prometheus’ or ‘The Dark Knight Rises.’ Matthew may be seen at 35 seconds.
Today Evanna tweeted letting fans know she did a photoshoot and interview for TheHFMagazine. To see her interview visit this page and scroll down really far OR search for Evanna Lynch. Some snippets may be read below:
What and who inspires you?
People who can be completely content and creative by themselves, who don’t need others to feel inspired. As an actor, I spend a lot of time travelling alone and living alone and it used to make me very lonely but you have to turn that loneliness into a chance to discover your individuality and be a consistently positive, creative person. You can’t find that in other people. I think people who crave attention, those girls that go from one guy to the next and are never alone, are shying away from their own creative purpose because they can’t stand the oddness of their own company. That’s why I find myself inspired by people like Michael Jackson and my character from Harry Potter, Luna Lovegood; they’re oddballs to our society, but in truth they’re completely natural and self possessed. Both of them are strong and bold enough not to conform to what their peers expect of them. That’s why Michael Jackson exceeded everyone else’s expectations creatively. He brought something new and radical to his music and performances; he brought himself.
I read a lot of artists’ biographies, too. I’m kind of fascinated by their arrogance. That’s one trait that almost every great artist possesses. Van Gogh was a great artist but he wasn’t arrogant and I think the lack of that quality is why his life was so tortured and painful. Artists are such sensitive souls that if they listened to their own rational minds, the fearful, paranoid part that tells them they suck, they would never be crazy enough to paint. That’s why they need a steely shell of arrogance that tells them they can produce something fresh and original. I’m a sensitive person but I could never be arrogant enough to be a good artist. But I like reading about those people in the hope that eventually I may pick up some of their steeliness.
Where would you like to find yourself in 5 years? In 15 years?
I want to be surprised by whatever I’m doing. I’d like to look back in 5 years time and laugh because I could never imagine I’d be doing what I’m doing. You never anticipate the best things that happen in life. Like when an amazing new friend or guy comes into your life but you never could have dreamed them up and you didn’t realize they were missing in your life. I think what I want most out of life is adventure and learning. I kind of like my life to be unpredictable so I’m always being pushed. I’d like to be happy, too, but really learning and growing is paramount and you have to be ok with a certain level of discomfort for that.
Although, I have some conventional ambitions, too. I’d definitely like to be married in 10-15 years. I’d like to have a partner in crime. I’d love to have made more movies and have a strong network of friends within the industry who I can be creative with. I’d like to have written a book too, though maybe I’ll give myself 20 years for that… And I hope to be a better driver. I just got my license a few months ago and as it stands, lives are at risk.
What is the best life lesson you have learned from a fellow actor? Stop thinking.
Harry Potter: The Quest has released another new featurette. This one is called Finding Luna: A Dream Come True and shows us one of Evanna Lynch’s first screen tests with Daniel Radcliffe!
This morning Warner Bros have sent over some official footage from the Harry Potter Celebration that was held at the Wizarding World of Harry Potter this weekend. The video includes interviews with the various cast members in attendance and highlights from the weekend. The film was released on DVD in the US last week and will come out in the UK on December 2nd!
US fans may order the movie through the following links:
At the DVD Launch this past weekend Crave Online asked the stars (and crew) what their favorite deleted scenes were, or what they wish they had filmed. A small selection may be read below, the rest are here.
James Phelps: For me, personally, I guess it was the actual death of Fred. That was a bit disappointing, but I guess it kind of worked more into Oliver [Phelps] and Rupert [Grint], seeing their emotion in that way. So a lot of the fans saw it in that sense, when they hadn’t thought about it before. Oliver Phelps: I think the de-gnoming of the garden in the second film. That would have been brilliant. James Phelps: It isn’t PC, is it? Oliver Phelps: I was really looking forward to being able to do that. Shame.
Evanna Lynch: It [Luna’s Quidditch commentary] was never filmed. It was in the script and I got so psyched about it, because it was done really well. I find sport incredibly boring, so I would like to see Luna’s take on it. I got invited to the Quidditch World Cup, to commentate, and sadly it conflicted with this. It’s going on in New York at this moment. But one day I will get there and I will commentate that match.
Alfie Enoch: It was actually my last day of shooting on the last film. I was up on the battlements with the Weasley Twins, and we were defending the castle from some of those spells. You know, you saw that fantastic scene where all the Death Eaters were sending in those spells and breaking down the wall, and then they go and they’re actually attacking the stone of the castle. That’s something. We’re up against a green screen, and I thought, this the first time I’ve actually got a wand in my hand [and can] let loose. I was having a brilliant time. I got so into it I actually fell off the podium, which was quite embarrassing. That was such a sort of fun finale. I was sorry that didn’t make it in.
