Today, April 15th marks Emma Waton’s 20th birthday!! Make sure to keep a close watch on her Official Site as the new look will be up sometime today!
It is also Emma Thompson’s birthday as well, she is celebrating her 51st birthday. Emma plays Trelawney in the Harry Potter films and WILL be returning for Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows.
In an interview with The Tatler, which I posted about last week, Clemence Posey confirms that Emma Thompson returned to reprise her role as Professor Trelawney in Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows! You can see scans of the interview by going here!
She doesn’t know, she says, how her co-stars, Daniel Radcliffe and Emma Watson, are coping with their stellar existences – ‘We’ve never discussed it.’ But in Paris, she adds, ‘the French are too snob’ to admit to recognizing anyone. ‘And I’m proud of that!’ So proud that when Emma Thompson – a heroine of hers – was in make up for Harry Potter the other day and she felt a goosepimply ‘Aaah!’, she ‘didn’t say anything. Because I’m French! I’m not going to admit it.’
Thanks Clémence-Poesy.org! All I have to say is YES! I was hoping she could squeeze in a few days of filming!
If you guys remember, last week I posted about Emma Thompson’s book signing at Waterstone’s that was held on Saturday. Photos from the event are now online; you can see a few below.
This coming Saturday, March 6th, Emma Thompson (Professor Trelawney) will be at Waterstone’s in London signing copies of Nanny McPhee and the Big Bang! If you are able to attend, send in photos!

The award winning actress, screenwriter and author will be signing copies of her new book Nanny McPhee and the Big Bang, the funny and captivating new novel based on the new Nanny McPhee film.
A new trailer for Nanny McPhee and the Big Bang has been released. The sequel to Nanny McPhee stars Emma Thompson (Trelawney), Ralph Fiennes (Voldemort), Maggie Smith (McGonagall), and Rhys Ifans (Xenophilius Lovegood). This film is one of the reasons that Emma decided not to return to play Trelawney in Deathly Hallows, among other things.
A teaser trailer for the second Nanny McPhee film is now online! Emma Thompson plays Nanny McPhee and is also the one of the producers and writer of the movie. For that reason she was not able to return to film Deathly Hallows, which is a disappointment to all Potter fans as she was the PERFECT Trelawney. Other Potter stars are also in the film: Ralph Fiennes will be playing Lord Gray and Maggie Smith will play Mrs. Docherty, finally, Rhys Ifans is playing Uncle Phil.
