Clémence Poésy to Star in Cyrano de Bergerac on Broadway
Posted by Megs

Clémence Poésy will be playing Roxanne in Cyrano de Bergerac on Broadway this Fall at the American Airlines Theatre in New York.  This will be her Broadway debut after appearing in various film, theatre and television productions. The play features a new translation by Ranjit Bolt and Roundabout Theatre Company describes it as an “enduring masterwork with some of the wittiest lines ever written for the stage”.  The play will start previewing on September 14 and open officially on October 11 until November 25.

Cyrano de Bergerac is the story of a nobleman (Douglas Hodge as Cyrano) with a head for poetry and a nose for miles. Everyone in Paris adores him, except his true love Roxane, who can’t see past his prominent facial feature. Instead, Roxane falls in love with Christian (Kyle Soller), a handsome cadet. But when Christian tells Cyrano that Roxane makes him tongue-tied, Cyrano provides him with the romantic words that are guaranteed to win the young lady’s heart.

Clemence Poesy Sings Duet with Miles Kane
Posted by Megs

This is Sutton Coldfield is reporting that Clemence Poesy has sung a duet with Miles Kane for his recent album, The Colour Of The Trap, which will be released on May 9th. Clemence is most known for her role as Fleur Delacour-Weasley in the Harry Potter films.

Miles said: “I love Lee Hazelwood and the songs he did with Nancy Sinatra, or Serge Gainsbourg’s duets with Brigitte Bardot. I wanted a moment like that on the album, something sexy or sensual, and it wasn’t until after I’d written and recorded Happenstance that the duet came about. I didn’t know who she was, but someone from my record label was at a party in Paris and met Clemence, they got talking about me, and before I knew she was coming over to the studio. I must admit thinking, ‘she’s an actress, she won’t be able to sing’, but she was more on it than me when we were recording. We did it in three takes.”During the second verse of the song, there’s an audible giggle from the Gallic star as she provocatively purrs, ‘I want the keys to your chest’. Miles said: “There’s not enough stuff like that in music now. Clemence thought we’d have to re-record it, but we had to keep it and it totally made that moment on the album I’d been looking for.”

The second includes Clemence Poesy, Dohmnall Gleeson, James Phelps, Oliver Phelps, Bonnie Wright, Mark Williams, Michael Gambon and David Heyman.

Thank you to WB (and WCG) for sending over the audio! Also, thanks to SnitchSeeker for uploading the audio so I wouldn’t have to 😉
