New Interview with Matthew Lewis and Evanna Lynch
Posted by Megs

HeyUGuys have posted a new interview with Matthew Lewis and Evanna Lynch where they discuss the Harry Potter series. Read some snippets below and the full interview here.

HeyUGuys: Obviously the last instalment came out whilst you were playing Luna and Neville, did you have to shut yourselves away to read it in peace?

Evanna: It was quite a big deal for me when it was released. I was invited to JK Rowling’s launch party at the Natural History Museum and I was the second person to go up and have my copy of the book signed. My mum came with me and she really annoyed me when the book was released. I mean, for Harry Potter fans it’s a really big deal, you shut yourself away from the world, you just read read read. You don’t sleep and you don’t do any of your normal life maintenance things! And my mum was telling me to go to bed and I was like ‘No! NO! It’s a marathon, you have to keep going!’ I think that every time I put the book down I felt bad because I thought, ‘There’s stuff happening and I don’t know about it!’ So I made sure I knew how it ended before anybody else.

Matthew: Well I was always a fan of the books. Not quite as big a fan as Evanna but I was a big fan. I read the first four before I started work on the films and so each time a new one came out I would pre-order it and I tend to read them as a fan first. You lose yourself in the story because it’s so well written and then you start to think, ‘Hang on a sec, I’m going to be doing that in a few years.’ And that is a weird transition to make, it’s really hard when you’re reading it just as a fan and then as an actor. But it’s really great having that knowledge of what you’re going to be doing.

Thanks Matthew-Lewis.com!

Today we have the first part of what will be 2 different press conferences that were held on Monday April 4th at Harry Potter: The Exhibition in New York City. This first press conference was with normal media outlets, which you will hear in this post. The other press conference was with fan sites, Magical-Menagerie was in attendance, and hopefully WB will be sending over that audio soon. Sadly photography was not allowed at this event, so you can only listen.

In the first clip you will hear David Thewlis, Natalia Tena, Evanna Lynch, Warwick Davis, Freddie Stroma, Robbie Coltrane, Helen McCrory and David Barron. The second includes Clemence Poesy, Dohmnall Gleeson, James Phelps, Oliver Phelps, Bonnie Wright, Mark Williams, Michael Gambon and David Heyman.

Thank you to WB (and WCG) for sending over the audio! Also, thanks to SnitchSeeker for uploading the audio so I wouldn’t have to 😉

New Interview with Bonnie Wright in NYLON
Posted by Megs

NYLON has posted a new interview with actress Bonnie Wright where she talks about Harry Potter, and more specifically Part 2 of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows! She also discusses Daniel Radcliffe, her parent’s jewelry store (Wright and Teague), fashion and more. Some snippets may be read below:

Did you and the rest of the cast get the books before everyone else? Unfortunately not!  Actually, the most grating thing I’ve ever seen in a movie is in The Devil Wears Prada, when those two little kids get the Harry Potter books ahead of time.  I was like, “Are you kidding?  That would never, ever, ever happen!”  [JK Rowling] is so guarded, and she always wants everything to be released at the exact same time.  Even the international translators would only get the books when they were already on sale, so nothing leaked out.  Everybody – I mean everybody, Dan, Emma, everyone – had to wait just like you.

When you got the books, would you skip ahead to try and find the Ginny Weasley scenes? I remember doing that sometimes, but then it would kind of ruin the story, so I ended up just reading as I’d read any book normally.  But I remember, you know, so many people would call me or text me the day the books came out.  They’d go, “Oh my god, Bonnie, have you read page two-hundred-and-whatever?” And I’m like, “No! Stop! Don’t tell me anything!”  That was torture!

But I can’t wait for the part in the last film where your mother yells at Bellatrix, “Get away from my daughter, you bitch!” Oh that whole scene is going to be sogood.  In fact, what’s so great about the last film is that all the good guys bring up their game.  They’re like, “Actually, we’ll really fight now; we’re not afraid to cause damage.”   It’s so much fun, and the best part is, we get to destroy Hogwarts!

Cue the crying children. I guess people could think that’s sad, but for a lot of us, it was strangely cathartic.  Like, “This has been amazing, now let’s blow it up.”  It’s kind of like when you build a sand castle and you break it down.
