ScifiWire has posted a new set report for Half-Blood Prince.
Can you talk about the scene that you’re shooting now?
Yates: Yeah. This is a, Ron’s big Quidditch match, and he’s really nervous, and he’s not very good, and he’s terrified, frankly. And so it’s really about him building up to the game. And Harry [Daniel Radcliffe] pretends to slip some Felix Felicis, which is this potion that apparently gives you great luck, and Harry’s going to pretend to slip it into his drink to give him this bravura, which he doesn’t have. So it’s a gentle, funny scene about Ron’s trepidation about playing Quidditch. …
WB is holding a sweepstakes where a grand prize winner and a guest can win a trip to the London world premiere this July. Go HERE to enter the contest. The contest isn’t open yet but it should be soon.
Tanks to SS for emailing me about the Half Blood Prince premiere dates. The Japanese premiere of Half-Blood Prince will take place on Monday, July 6, 2009. The UK premiere will be on Tuesday, July 7th in London.
And VERY luckily for me the US premiere will be in New York City on Wednesday July 8th. So hopefully since I am only an hour and a half away from NYC I will be able to convice someone to come with me and I can get tons of photos and videos of the premiere!! (or maybe even get invited by WB to it, but that will never happen so heh..)
MTV has interviewed Harry Potter producer David Heyman.
“We’re following Harry and his relationship with Dumbledore and his search for this past and the puzzle and the key to defeating Voldemort,” the producer said. “We’re seeing some of Voldemort’s backstory; we’re seeing the budding romantic relationship between Harry and Ginny Weasley and the one between Ron and Hermione, as well as Malfoy.”
“The most difficult choice was to edit out some of the flashbacks in the memories that Harry explores,” Heyman explained. “Each film has to exist on its own terms, and alas, within these memories, they’re really significant and actually in the whole body of the series play a very significant part, but within the film they are detours in a way, going into a story about Voldemort, who doesn’t really appear in this film.”
Evanna Lynch (Luna Lovegood) made an appearance on The Tubridy Show where she talked about being a child actor. In the interview she confirmed that she will be returning for Deathly Hallows and will be filming in May. Thanks to SS we have a transrcipt, here is a segment:
You had to wait about four hours in the crowd. and it didn’t feel long at all, it was just really exciting. … They bring you into rooms. They saw everyone who was of the right age and nationality. They check your passports and everything. In fact, the girl in front of me who I was talking to, she was 13 and they just kicked her out. We went in. It was harsh at first the way they knocked people out. They’d take about 200 into a room and line about 30 up and they’d tell you to come forward and say your name and where you come from. And by that they would pick 2 or 3 people out and the rest would be, “Goodbye. Go home.” We had 1:1 auditions then and they said we want to see you again, that was on Saturday. And then the next Monday they called and said, “All right, screentest with David Yates, Daniel Radcliffe” … cameras, the whole shebang. I was a bit tazed by then. I’m still more a Harry Potter fan than an actor.
