Emma ‘English Rose’ Watson, only moved to England from France aged five but once the accent was dropped the young natural blonde was bagging roles in school plays like The Happy Prince (no, us neither).
Surprisingly, perhaps, Harry Potter And The Sorcerer’s Stone was her first professional acting gig at 11 – it was also the top-earning film of 2001 and netted her nominations for five awards. But their assignment for Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince set the bar higher than ever: Mix fire with water. The clash of elements transpires when Harry Potter is rescued from sea-dwelling beasts by Dumbledore, who sets the ocean ablaze with a bolt of fire. Harry bobs to the surface only to find himself surrounded by a fiery tornado.
