HBP Wins Best Ensemble at Scream Awards
Posted by Megs

According to TrekToday Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince won the SCREAM Award for Best Ensemble at the Scream Awards that were held on the 17th. The show will be airing on October 27th.

I will post a video as soon as one comes online!  Unfortunately I don’t think Potter won any other awards at the show, most of the categories they were in Star Trek won. (WOO Star Trek!)

UPDATE: According to this article, “The Harry Potter cast won Best Ensemble, but none of them showed up so the award didn’t appear as part of the show.”

UPDATE 2: The Death Eater attack on the bridge in London scena won the ” Holy S***! Scene of the Year” award.

Trailer: Emma Thompson [and other Potter Stars] in Nanny McPhee
Posted by Megs

A teaser trailer for the second Nanny McPhee film is now online!  Emma Thompson plays Nanny McPhee and is also the one of the producers and writer of the movie.  For that reason she was not able to return to film Deathly Hallows, which is a disappointment to all Potter fans as she was the PERFECT Trelawney.  Other Potter stars are also in the film:  Ralph Fiennes will be playing Lord Gray and Maggie Smith will play Mrs. Docherty, finally, Rhys Ifans is playing Uncle Phil.

Live Screening of HBP With Dan and Yates
Posted by Megs

Home Media Magazine is reporting that for “the Dec. 8 Blu-ray Disc release of Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince will be the first to include a worldwide live community screening with audio, featuring actor Daniel Radcliffe and director David Yates.”

“It’s a wonderful way for fans and for those directly involved with making a film to share opinions and ideas,” Radcliffe said of the Dec. 12 community screening, which Blu-ray owners will be able to access via BD Live at noon PST.

The screening will be open to the first 100,000 fans who sign up and respond to an emailed invitation to the event. Those fans will be able to ask questions live of Radcliffe and Yates, who will respond live from London.

“It’s a tremendous honor to be invited to host the first worldwide live community screening and to have the opportunity to talk directly to fans across the globe,” Yates said.

Video: Tom Felton at YFCotY Awards

A video of Tom, from the “Young Film Critic of the Year” Awards, where he presented an award, was recorded by FilmClub and can be viewed below.

You are here today at the Young Critics Awards, giving out awards to two FILMCLUB members who have reviewed films on the site. Do you read your own film reviews?
Yes, it was a great honour (to give out the award) I personally don’t go searching, not that I don’t appreciate the comments or opinions of other people, I like to hear what the fans have got to say. I confess that I have a very good girlfriend who manages to email me all the best ones but I get quite a biased opinion of the films! I remember speaking to the director of the Harry Potter films and we both said, there’s going to be so many pros and so many(cons)…because there’s going to be thousands of reviews people are going to love it, or people are going to hate it. You’ve just got to take what you can from it really.

What do you think about FILMCLUB?
I think it’s a fantastic initiative. I think FILMCLUB…a getting kids into films is a great idea but the idea of getting them into films as a group is even better. I’m actually quite a lonely go-er to the cinema, I go quite often by myself but nothing beats going with a group of people. Even if people disagree with what you think of the film its kind of good. You kind of learn who you are by going to films with different people really. I think it’s a great way to interact with other kids and see what’s out there.

If you had a film club in your school…
I wish I did! Why weren’t you guys around when I was at school! That would have been fantastic. I’d have been there every week.

Thanks to SS for finding the video and transcribing it.
