There is a great new interview online with Matthew Lewis where he talks about Deathly Hallows!
Q: Some fans also have a crush on Neville and on you. Did you ever expect that?
A: Definitely not for myself, but I wouldn’t begrudge it. (Laughs.) It’s cool for a 20-year-old guy to have that. When I got into “Harry Potter” that was never really the aim.
Q: What can we expect from Neville in the next film (“Harry Potter And The Deathly Hallows, Part One,” to be released in 2010)?
A: I got the final script a few weeks ago. Neville has got a lot of stuff to do. The three main students (Harry, and friends Ron Weasley and Hermoine Grainger) have been away from Hogwarts, but Neville stays and takes charge of Dumbledore’s Army (which leads the charge against Voldemort and his forces.) He is leading an underground resistance. He gets beaten and is a bit bloodied.
Q: Are you satisfied with the role he will play?
A: I think the fans are going to love it. Neville really comes through. He’s got this older demeanor. Nothing scares him anymore.
This is Surrey Today is reporting that Tom Felton is scheduled to judge a Halloween Coloring Contest for local Surrey youth this Saturday afternoon.
A film star will be judging a competition as witches and ghosts hit the streets of Leatherhead on Saturday (October 31). Mole Valley resident Tom Felton, better known as Draco Malfoy from the Harry Potter films, will choose a winner in a colouring competition at a Hallowe’en extravaganza on the High Street and Swan Centre. Thousands of people are expected to descend on the town centre between 2.30pm and 5.30pm.
As well as various ghoulish games, a Hallowe’en hunt, live scary critters and street entertainers will keep the masses entertained. Swan Centre manager Patricia Lawless said: “We are really looking forward to what has become one of Leatherhead town centre’s most popular events of the year. “With plenty of things to see and do it’s the perfect way to spend an afternoon.”
Last night Chris Rankin updated his Twitter account with some very very exciting news. He said:
in the hotel, excited for filming in the morrow, but not excited for the 5am wake-up call… 43 principal cast on set tomorrow…!
This is only an assumption but I, and many others, are guessing this means that the Battle of Hogwarts scene is being filmed! We also know via Twitter that Matthew Lewis, James and Oliver Phelps, and Warwick Davis are also on set this week! Matt had also mentioned the following on his twitter on Tuesday:
Well that was an awfully short day at work. Rest of the week won’t be as easy if this morning’s rehearsal was anything to go by. Love it.
Dan Radcliffe has recorded the narration for the 2010 Holocaust Memorial Day short film, The Legacy of Hope. Daniel Radcliffe said,
When I was approached to narrate this short film, The Legacy of Hope, I felt very privileged. I felt that in a very small way I was contributing to the remembrance of these tragic and horrendous events, whilst also commemorating all those people who refused to let the horrors they had lived through dictate the tone of the rest of their lives.
