Warner Bros. Games and Playstation hosted a “State of Play” livestream earlier this evening and shared the Official Gameplay Reveal for Hogwarts Legacy. Hogwarts Legacy is an “open-world, action role-playing-game set in the 1800s wizarding world.” Scheduled for a holiday 2022 release, the game will be available for PlayStation®5, PlayStation®4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One consoles, Nintendo Switch™ and PC. Warner Bros. Games have sent over a couple videos which can be watched below.

Hogwarts Legacy is filled with immersive magic that puts players at the centre of their own adventure. Joining as a brand new fifth year student with a unique ability to manipulate powerful ancient magic, players will live the unwritten and embark on a dangerous journey to uncover a hidden truth of the wizarding world. Throughout their adventure, they will grow their character’s abilities by mastering powerful spells, brewing potions, and harvesting magical plants as they face off against deadly enemies. Along the way, they will meet new friends who can accompany them, interact with school professors, and confront dangers that could jeopardize the future of wizardkind.

The State of Play video gives an in-depth look into the gameplay, including character customization, and some of the different spells, adventures, missions, locations, and characters players will encounter as a student at Hogwarts.

After it’s initial HBO Max premiere on New Years Day the Harry Potter 20th Anniversary: Return to Hogwarts special will be premiering on Cartoon Network and TBS on April 10th.

The enchanting retrospective special will air first at 6:00 p.m. ET/PT as part of Cartoon Network’s ACME Night with an encore presentation on TBS at 8:00 p.m. ET/PT. Viewers tuning in to each broadcast will be treated to a special sneak peek of Warner Bros. Pictures’ highly anticipated Fantastic Beasts: The Secrets of Dumbledore, which is set to hit theaters on April 15.

HBO Max and Wizarding World have sent over the trailer for Harry Potter 20th Anniversary: Return to Hogwarts, airing on the streaming service January 1st. It was announced that fans in the UK would be able to tune in on Sky TV and its streaming service NOW.

Announced last month, the retrospective special invites fans on a magical first-person journey through one of the most beloved film franchises of all time. Daniel Radcliffe, Rupert Grint, Emma Watson will reunite, together with other esteemed cast members and filmmakers across all eight Harry Potter films. In celebration of the anniversary of the franchise’s first film, Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone, this unique television event includes brand new cast discussions, insights from the creative team behind the magic, and comments from creator J.K. Rowling.

This Sunday marks the final week of competition for Harry Potter: Hogwarts Tournament of Houses on Cartoon Network and TBS. Tune in at 8pm on Sunday the 19th.
