In more Deathly Hallows news, once again thanks to HP4U we know that, “the main unit Potter gang will be on a 5 week hiatus from 16th April – 21st May.” So this means no filming for a a few weeks and then back to filming until sometime in June when filming will be totally completed.
Just as I promised, thanks to my friend Kevin at HP4U, where I am also a staffer, we have some fun Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows news! We have a few awesome new photos; one of Malfoy Manor, inside the Hogwarts Express (“but not THE Hogwarts Express, this is a special version, built within the studios and used for some ‘extra’ special shots in the forthcoming Deathly Hallows.”), and Luna’s house!
In a new interview with Total Film magazine, Rupert Grint talks about Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows among other things.
Are you talkin’ to me?
“Getting recognized is always a strange experience–a lot of people don’t approach you to talk. It’s all secret camera phones. But people that do are always quite positive and I’ve never found it that hard to deal with. People always want to know if I’m a real ginger. Luckily, they just take my word for it.”
Do you feel lucky punk?
“I feel very lucky. Getting Harry Potter was a bit of luck–I made a video of myself doing a rap and I sent it to Newsround and I got picked off there. And the casting director lived on my road…I loved drama at school but didn’t realise it was a job so I do feel lucky to be able to do what I do.”
What if you could go back in time and take all those hours of pain and darkness and replace them with something better?
“Well, I’d like to change my hair in the fourth Harry Potter film–it was long and quite strange. There’s always hours of waiting about when you’re filming and on the last film we did a lot of outdoor scenes at a pond last February which was freezing. I hate getting my face wet and we had to change out there, too. Those were hours of pain and darkness.”
Have you ever danced with the devil in the pale moonlight?
“I’m not a good dancer. I never feel comfortable–I have a problem with my arms. I never really know what to do with them. I always look quite awkward and well, if the devil ever came and asked me to dance, I’d probably not. I’m sure he’s a good dancer, though.”
You either surf or you fight…
“I’ve never surfed and I don’t fight. I’m a bit of a pacifist. Being ginger, it’s lucky that I’ve never really had any fighting experiences. It depends on the situation, but I’d probably run, I’m ashamed to say. My brother and I were at some local shop and we got chased by these dirty chavs and they got my brother. I was just cycling away, being a bit of a coward. He was alright. He’s quite big.”
Why so serious?
“I can be serious, but I don’t take myself too seriously. You have to be serious when you’re working but Harry Potter never felt like a job. It always felt like playing. On Cherrybomb, there was a lot less time to muck about because there was such a limited time and we were always working against the clock. I’m seriously competitive–especially with my brother, and about the most ridiculous things. And my ice cream truck is not very serious. It’s not the most practical vehicle. It’s really hard to park because it’s about 8ft tall.”
Who are you and what have you done with Hermione Granger?
“Who am I? I think as the years have passed, Ron and I have blended into one person. It’s weird because the final filming day is coming up and I’ll have to say goodbye to him. I’m ready to move on–I’m looking forward to seeing what else is out there. What have I done with Hermione? We don’t see each other much outside filming because we see each other everyday for a year. But we’ve all been through a lot together, we’ve got some good memories of the films and it’s been brilliant.”
