JKR One of World’s Richest Moms
Posted by Megs

JK Rowling has made Forbe’s list of World’s Richest Moms.

Joanne (JK) Rowling, author of the Harry Potter book franchise, has told the story of her difficult days in Edinburgh, Scotland, where she had moved with her first child after a painful divorce to be near her sister. Rowling now has two more children with her current husband. The advance from the manuscript for Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone, which she wrote in cafes in Edinburgh, paid rent on the meager flat she shared with her first child while they were subsisting on welfare.

New Emma Feature on Vanity Fair Website
Posted by Megs

Vanity Fair has a new interview and photoshoot with Emma Watson up on their website.  In the interview Emma talks about Brown, Hermione and more!

“It was just awful,” she recalls thinking at first, during freshman week. “I was like, I must be mad. Why am I doing this?” And what was with all the party-hearty stuff? She nervously attended her first frat party, hoping she might get into the swing of things. “I felt like I’d walked into an American teen movie. I picked up the red cups. I was like, Wow, they really do drink from these.” Then she started meeting people: a roommate who had no interest in Harry Potter (phew!), […] After a youth spent as a superstar, Watson has finally found out what it feels like to be a normal, liberated girl—and she’s never been happier. “I was scared before I came to Brown—that I wasn’t going to be allowed to have both [a career and a normal life]. People would think that I didn’t deserve to have both. [I was afraid they’d think], You’re famous. You’re given free handbags. Why should you deserve to be normal?” And in case they hadn’t noticed, she’s also the gorgeous new face of Burberry. As its creative director, Christopher Bailey, puts it, “She’s the only girl I know who gets two completely different reactions from people: ‘Aw’ and ‘Whoa!’?”

Collectible of the Week #7
Posted by Megs

Since WB has just released a new limited edition watch, I found it only fitting to feature a watch for Collectible of the Week, the Harry Potter HC0095 Quidditch Trunk Watch!

About: This watch comes in a tin chest made to look like wood with the Hogwarts and House crests printed on it.  When you open the case, you see the watch sitting on a Quaffle, a Bludger on either side and a scroll rolled up inside which is a Certificate of Authenticity.  The numbers on the watch are in Roman Numerals & a Gryffindor lion in the middle of the watch face. (high resolution photos here, here & here)

Value: This is a pretty expensive item nowadays because it was limited to 1,000.  I usually see it for around $150, but there is currently one available for a whopping $255. (and its thanks to this listing that we have our 3rd photo of the watch outside the case)

Buy It: This watch is only available on eBay now, and it is quite pricey, but if you are lucky you might score a deal.

Rating: I rate this 10/10! It is a great item & true collectors piece because of it’s rarity.
