In another new interview with Tom Felton, he discusses Ralph Fiennes and Jason Isaacs in Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows.
He said: “I’ve never worked with Ralph one-on-one [until recently], Alan Rickman was there and several dark presences so it was very daunting and there are some horrifically evil speeches. There’s a lot to look forward to, definitely.”
The actor said working with some of Britain’s finest actors had been a privilege. “There are some scenes where literally three of the four people there have been knighted which is bizarre,” he laughed. “There are a few times when you’ve got to pinch yourself to stay in character, you learn stuff from them without even realising it I think. It’s a huge honour” he said.
Despite filming now being over, Tom said he’d definitely be keeping in touch with his on-screen dad Jason Isaacs who plays Lucius Malfoy. “Jason is a legend. He is like another father to me in the acting world, he’s keen to hear about future projects and he’s kind of been one of the adults who has never been afraid to say ‘why don’t you try this, why don’t you try that’ and as far as being a young actor goes he’s been extremely helpful so I have a lot to thank Jason for definitely,” he said.
Evanna Lynch recently won an award for excellence in art, in the article we also learn a bit about how Evanna is at school! We also learn that Evanna was a little involved with the creation of Evanna’s house in Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows.
But even before the crunch exams, she has worked some magic to win a top prize for her artistic skills at her Drogheda school. The Mary Barrett Portfolio Award prize is given each year to the sixth year student who performs best in art and suggests that if the star ever tires of her fledgling acting career she won’t be stuck for work.”She’s very interested in art, but she’s also interested in dance actually,” explained Donal Lynch, deputy principal of Our Lady’s College in Drogheda. I suppose she’s so busy at the moment she’s not really thinking of what she’ll do in the future.”
The Meath girl’s priorities have been split between study and filming for the final instalment of JK Rowling’s Harry Potter and the Deadly Hallows. Evanna’s deputy principal told the Herald that the young actress has had a difficult year. “She was filming up until last week which makes it very difficult when she’s facing a couple of Leaving Cert papers. She hasn’t had the time to put in the work that she’d like to.”
Despite the hectic schedule, Mr Lynch said she has shown great dedication, particularly to art. “She wore the earrings to the open audition and when she went on for the screen test one of the directors immediately admired them and thought of using them in the film, which they did. I think they produced a pack of jewellery based on what she has made. They actually consulted her a bit about the design for Luna’s house as well,” he said.
But despite her fame, Evanna doesn’t like to be treated as a celebrity by the other students. According to the deputy principal, “She’s just another student like everybody else. If anybody tried to act anyway other than that she’d be annoyed — she likes to keep it quiet and low key.”
Thanks to SS we have a new video from Wild Target, Rupert Grint’s new film which also features Bill Nighy! You can watch below, but beware there are some graphic images!
In a new interview Tom Felton talks about the end of filming Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows.
“I was expecting this big emotional breakdown but instead the first AD (assistant director) got out the microphone and listed the names of people who it was their last day and forced the crew for a ripple of applause and then we walked off and that was it,” Tom revealed. “The reason why it perhaps hasn’t sunk in yet is because we always feel like we’re going to be asked back for something or other, I’m sure it’s not the last time we’ve seen those studios,” he laughed.
The young actor said when the final film comes out in 2011, the cast are set to have the mother of all celebrations. He said: “We have to don’t we? Rumours are that there is going to be a mammoth party. I’m very excited for that, hopefully we’ll get a chance to say our farewells and hug everyone goodbye.”
Tom hopes the franchise’s new theme park – The Wizarding World Of Harry Potter at Universal Studios Orlando – will help with the cast’s “withdrawal symptoms”. “It’s good for us because if we ever have withdrawal symptoms we can just walk around the park and be like, ‘yeah we’re back!'” the actor joked.
The park gets its grand opening on June 18, and Tom plans to be first in line. “I’m a theme park junkie so to be immortalised in a theme park is a dream come true!” he said.
In a new interview with MuggleCast, producer David Heyman discussed the splitting of Deathly Hallows and an added scene! Listen to the full episode, with more great stuff from David, by going here or read the part about Deathly Hallows below.
The script [for Part 1] was written with an end in mind. The first draft was written with one ending and as we developed it, it went to another ending. And then we reverted in part to the original ending because we felt it allowed us a more emotional conclusion and felt like it was more complete, as it were. But we’ve added this other scene which I think is really amazing – and I can’t tell you where the break is, I’m sorry – but I do feel it will be incredibly dramatic, very moving and make people want to watch the next film.
Thanks to Ice Cream Man we know that Rupert Grint will be in attendance at the Wizarding World of Harry Potter theme park opening!
There is also another article confirming that Daniel Radcliffe, James Phelps and Oliver Phelps will be in attendance! The article also states that Helena Bonham Carter will not be in attendance.
Tom Felton confirmed via his Twitter Account that he will be going as well:
“It’s good for us because if we ever have withdrawal symptoms we can just walk around the park and be like, ‘yeah we’re back!'” the actor joked.
“I’m a theme park junkie so to be immortalised in a theme park is a dream come true!” he said.
They are still trying to confirm whether, Emma Watson, Matthew Lewis and Bonnie Wright will be in attendance. (I have asked Matthew if he is going but I don’t know if he is allowed to confirm, so stay tuned 😉 )
