Gemma Jones Talks Deathly Hallows
Posted by Megs

Gemma Jones, who plays the role of Madam Poppy Pomfrey in Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, recently gave an interview where she discussed the upcoming film.

“I did have to do a lot of fighting with my wand,” she said while promoting the Woody Allen comedy You Will Meet A Tall Dark Stranger. “At my age and station it was a very good workout. I’m fighting the Death Eaters with my wand so I had a good time.”

“Well, I talked to Emma and Daniel on this last film because I was kind of maternally concerned for them because it’s such a huge experience and going to come to an end. I wasn’t there on the last day of the last shot but I think they were finding it very hard to take in that it was coming to an end. I hope they’ll be okay.”

“It couldn’t be more different than having done this film with Woody but a wonderful repertory company of British actors in those films and a lot of people I know. Hell of amount of hanging about because the setups are so huge, so a lot of that was spent in each other’s trailers having a jolly good gossip and a very nice time. It’s like a huge juggernaut and military campaign getting it off the ground every day on set.

Matt and Bonnie Answer First Fan Questions
Posted by Megs

Matthew Lewis and Bonnie Wright have answered their first fan questions as part of the Harry Potter UK Facebook group fan question series.

What was the most difficult scene to film in Deathly Hallows?
Matthew: There’s a scene where Neville stands up to Voldemort towards the end of the movie and it is his defining moment so there was a lot of pressure. I wanted to be perfect for all the fans.

What it was like playing Harry’s love interest?
Bonnie: It was exciting for me as an actress and for Ginny. It is a massive part of her life.

Review: Harry Potter Collector’s Handbook
Posted by Megs

I have been awaiting the release of this book for over a year now. The reason: my Harry Potter collection is featured in it!  I was asked by the author to take photos of my collection to help with his book.  Finally the book has been released and you can buy it here on amazon: Harry Potter Collector’s Handbook.  Now on to the review!

The book, by William Silvester, is made up of 270 pages FULL of Harry Potter collectibles that will make any Potter fan excited.  While the book doesn’t contain EVERY item (that would be plain impossible) it gives a great overview of most of the items you can own.  It goes through action figures by brand, books, calendars, costumes, bookmarks, figurines and so much more!  If you are a Potter collector, or just a collector of anything this book is great to hand.

For each item there is a description and the average price you can expect to pay for it.  There is also an item number if it is available.  So if you ever need to find an item, this will be your go to book. Just go to that section and look through the photos until you find what you need and all the information is there waiting for you!

That’s really all I have to say about the book.  It’s a wonderful resource for Potter fans and collectors of all ages.  You can find anything you ever dreamed of owning in the book. So, that’s it, now go buy it!
