Cinema Today is reporting that Rupert Grint and Bonnie Wright will be visiting Japan on November 17 to promote Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, Part 1. Rupert has been confirmed as attending, Evanna Lynch may be attending, and Bonnie will be going but not staying for any further events (thanks to SS for this bit of information and the translation below).
In regards to Japan, Rupert says, “I love Japan, the last time I went was after the third movie, but I really became fascinated by the country. It was very different from any other country and the fans were very, very enthusiastic (laughs),” he explains as being his impression of Japan. Also, “Last time [I was in Japan], the trip was very short, so this time I would like to be able to stay a little longer,” he says as he looks forward to coming to Japan. Finally, he sends a message to the fans, “Deathly Hallows is a brand new adventure like nothing you have seen in the other Harry Potter films. I hope you are all looking forward to it!”
J.K. Rowling received the Hans Christian Andersen Literature Prize today in Denmark. You can watch a video of her receiving the award here! (I’m working on getting it for YouTube)
She is the first recipient of the 500,000 kroner ($93,352) award, which was handed out Tuesday at a ceremony in Odense, Andersen’s hometown.
The prize is given to a person who can be compared with Andersen, the Danish writer who was born in 1805 and wrote some 160 fairy tales and poems before his death in 1875.
Rowling said the author of such classics as “The Little Mermaid” and the “The Ugly Duckling” had “created indestructible, eternal characters.”
