Dale Neuschwander, a Minnasota native, was a student teacher in the UK and taught Harry Potter author JK Rowling when she was 13 years old (in an Advanced English class).

“The teacher had made notes about his students, to let me know what they were like, and he wrote ‘extremely intelligent’ beside her name,” Neuschwander said.

“She got straight A’s and A-pluses in creative writing,”

“I do recall an extensive vocabulary for one so young,” he said. “I was also amused by her witty use of informal language in essays (slang, regionalisms, etc.). She has a good sense of humor.”

Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix director David Yates has confirmed that he will be directing Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince in a new interview with Scifi Wire.

He says:

I am doing Half-Blood Prince, and I’m doing it because I love the world, I love the characters.  I think I have more business with this world and these characters.

I’ve made a kind of tonal shift with the fifth film, which I want to continue and develop into the sixth film.  And I can see the fifth story evolving into the sixth story in a really interesting way. So I’m on a journey with this material and this world, and I’m keen to complete it.
