the Movie-Fanatic have Rupert featured on their list of Ten Most Underrated Young Actors.
Playing one of the main characters in the Harry Potter series gave Rupert Grint the kind of world-wide recognition reserved to a chosen few. He is definitely not your usual boy-next-door young star who prefers to play traditional roles given to teens in Hollywood. His co-stars Dan Radcliffe and Emma Watson seem to have the edge when it comes to fans (at the start, that is!) but Grint did not won the coveted role over hundreds of aspirants if he is not made of tougher stuff.
His goal to polish his craft by exploring other characters beside Ron Weasley appears to be making headways. He made Driving Lessons in 2006 and this year – two feature films Cherrybomb and Wild Target – will further allow the young actor to prove he has what it takes to suceed in the movie business.
In the coming-of-age story Driving Lessons, Grint got excellent reviews for his first leading role: the critics praised the realism he brought into the role of shy teenager Ben Marshall, as well as his “riotous comedic timing” and “fantastic screen chemistry” with Julie Walters. He is expected to give the same kind of dedication to his two new movies, and his fans remain steadfast and loyal – even launching a campaign to make sure his movie, Cherrybomb is shown on theaters.
Thanks ICM!

In several new articles it has been revealed that Cherrybomb will be distributed in the UK, probably because of the great campaign run by fans to get the film distributed! The film’s sales agent, The Little Film Company, is also in negotiation with an American distributor. Rupert has been quoted as saying:
“I am backing this campaign wholeheartedly,” he said. “I’m delighted by the huge support the film has already received on the official Facebook page and other sites on the web and am so grateful to my fans in particular, who have travelled the world to support the film at festivals and preview screenings.”
Thanks for the tip and starting the campain ICM!

The Little Film Company have launched the Official Cherrybomb Website! Cherrybomb is Rupert Grint’s new movie, well one of them.
We also have some news about his other film, Wild Target. The gayandlesbiantimes state the following, unconfirmed, news:
It’s a British action-comedy about a hitman wishing for retirement but finding no rest forthcoming, and it features the hilarious Bill Nighy (Pirates of the Carribean) alongside Emily Blunt, Martin Freeman and a breaking-out-of-Ron-Weasley-mode Rupert Grint (a casting move that ought to guarantee a U.S. release). Directed by Jonathan Lynn (My Cousin Vinny), the film has already wrapped and should, fingers-crossed, hit its target on these shores sometime in 2010.
Thanks ICM!!
