Harry Potter: Hogwarts Mystery Announces the Celestial Ball
Posted by Megs

Beginning today, February 8th, players of Harry Potter: Hogwarts Mystery can participate in the social – and chic – event of the season at Hogwarts, The Celestial Ball.

“Life at Hogwarts is filled with classes, studies, extra-curricular activities – but also social events and celebrations,” said Michael Brozman, Sr. Director of Product at Jam City. “We’re thrilled to introduce the Celestial Ball time-limited sidequest this February, giving players the opportunity to explore the excitement, choices and camaraderie of a Hogwarts school dance.”

This February, in the mobile game, Harry Potter: Hogwarts Mystery, Hogwarts is abuzz with the social event of the season – the Celestial Ball! In this special adventure, fourth-year players and above can participate in the after-class planning and preparations for this first formal dance. Maneuvering a host of choices and social situations, players will partner with their peers in an effort to make the event a resounding, resplendent success!

In the quest, players will help other Hogwarts classmates with their own Celestial Ball aspirations. For example, the popular Hufflepuff Penny hopes to head the Decorating Committee, but the devious duo of Merula and Ismelda have set their sights on sabotage. Meanwhile, introverted classmates like Rowan require makeover tips and pep talks, to put their best foot forward at the dance.

Before the grand event, players can visit the Great Hall to mingle with classmates like Tulip, Barnaby, Rowan, Ben, Merula, Penny and others, and choose a friend to invite to the ball. With the sidequest all but complete, players will be able to choose their own outfit for the ball from a selection of looks curated by fashion-forward Ravenclaw, Andre.

Hogwarts Mystery Mobile Game Celebrates the Dark Arts in October
Posted by Megs

To celebrate October and the changing seasons, mobile game Harry Potter: Hogwarts Mystery is celebrating the Dark Arts! “This October, we’re exploring the darker side of Hogwarts,” said Josh Yguado, Jam City President and COO. “From the Hallowe’en feast in the Great Hall, to our in-game events and side quests, players will have the chance to experience a full month of October festivities, ranging from fun to fearsome.”

From the press release:

In the hit mobile game Harry Potter: Hogwarts Mystery , players are exposed to the darker side of the Wizarding World, facing many dangers during their Hogwarts education. While attending classes, players delve into an unfolding investigation of their brother’s disappearance, leading them to the mysteries of the Cursed Vaults. From facing treacherous Boggarts in Year Three, to exploring the perils of the Forbidden
Forest in Year Four, the Dark Arts are present amidst the safety of classes and celebrations at the venerable school.

October begins in Harry Potter: Hogwarts Mystery with festive flair as students, staff and spectres prepare for the Hallowe’en feast. The Great Hall is now adorned with pumpkins and spooky decor, and the ghosts of Hogwarts – Nearly Headless Nick, the Fat Friar, the Bloody Baron, and the Grey Lady – have assembled for this highly anticipated annual event. But a shadow falls on the proceedings as a seasonal side quest begins mid-month, introducing a sinister, time sensitive twist to the story. Players will need to utilize their full arsenal of defensive spells, from Hex-Deflection to the stunning spell Stupefy, as dark forces arrive on Hogwarts’ grounds upon the full moon.

As this seasonal sidequest takes hold, players can also put their defensive skills to the test in a special Duelling Club event. Using the Melofors Jinx, players will be able to temporarily transform their opponents’ heads into a pumpkin, bringing autumn flavor to this recurring in-game event.
