This coming week ABC Family will be having another Harry Potter weekend, this time it starts on Wednesday and you’ll have the chance to see the first five films. The weekend culminates with a full day marathon starting with Sorcerer’s Stone and ending with Order of the Phoenix. The weekend will also include behind the scenes looks at Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part II. The schedule is as follows:

The first five Harry Potter films have made it on to Seventeen Magazine’s Top 17 Halloween movies (as one place). My personal favorites, not counting Potter, are Casper, Beetlejuice, Hocus Pocus, Monsters, Inc. and Charlie Brown, how about you guys?

Today we have some exciting news for Harry Potter fans in the UK! The Harry Potter Ultimate Editions that have been released in the US over the past couple of years are coming to the UK next month! Years 1-6 will be released on November 14, 2011. You can order all of the DVDs right here at HMV’s website!
Year 7 has not been released yet and currently has no release date (just 2012), but it is possible that they will be released in the US and UK on the same date now that the UK has gotten the others.

Spike TV’s 2011 Scream Awards will be featuring a special Harry Potter Farewell as part of the broadcast on Tuesday, October 18th. BUT for fans in the New York area you can take part in a special event on Friday, October 14th that will be aired during the broadcast. You can sign up to request free tickets to the event here (you will have to enter the promocode Potter)!
On Friday, October 14th, a select group of 1000 Harry Potter fans will gather in NYC for a final farewell to the greatest film franchise of all time, Harry Potter. The gathering will be used as part of a televised tribute during the SCREAM AWARDS airing on SPIKE TV Tuesday October 18th at 9/8c PM.

Warner Bros have announced that a complete 8 film collection of the Harry Potter movies will be released on BluRay and DVD on November 11th of this year and will ship on 11/11/11 if you pre-order now. Both sets can be pre-ordered at the Official WB shop. The BluRay set will cost $97.98, and the DVD set will be $79.95 but is on sale for $64.99.

Also, don’t forget to pre-order WB’s Exclusive Gift Sets for Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part II which are also available for pre-order at the WB shop.
