Deathly Hallows: Part 2 Wins 212 SFX Awards; Phelps Twins Accept Award

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part II  won Best Film at the SFX Awards in the Reader-Voted section. It was up against X-Men: First Class, Thor, and Super 8.  James and Oliver Phelps, who play the Weasley Twins, accepted the award via a video which may be seen below.

Deathly Hallows: Part 2 Wins at Art Directors Guild Awards

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part II was the recipient of two awards at the 16th Annual Art Directors Guild Awards.  It won the only award it was nominated for: Excelence in Production Design for a Feature Film in 2011 under the Fantasy category.  It beat:

  • Captain America: The First Avenger
  • The Adventures of Tin Tin: The Secret Unicorn
  • Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides
  • Cowboys & Aliens

The Harry Potter team was also honored with Art Directors Guild Cinematic Imagery Award.  The award was presented to Producers David Heyman and David Barron; Director David Yates; creator and author J.K. Rowling; Screenwriter Steve Kloves; Production Designer Stuart Craig; Art Director Neil Lamont; and Set Decorator Stephenie McMillan. David Yates, David Heyman, Stuart Craig, Neil Lamont, and Stephenie McMillan were in attendance at the even to pick up the award.

Deathly Hallows Part II Wins at SAG Awards

The Screen Actors Guild (SAG) Awards were given out last night and Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows was voted as one of the winners by the members of the guild. It won for Outstanding Performance by a Stunt Ensemble in a Motion Picture:
