Trio in Forbes!
Posted by Megs

Daniel Radcliffe, Emma Watson and Rupert Grint have been included on Forbes ’20 Under 25: The Top-Earning Superstars’ list. Congrats!

Number 6: Daniel Radcliffe, $15 million
Born: July 23, 1989
Better known as the title character of the Harry Potter film franchise, Radcliffe generated a media frenzy this year after he appeared onstage nude in a West End revival of Equus. The fifth Potter film, this summer’s The Order of the Phoenix, grossed $938 million worldwide, making it the second highest-grossing film of the year. Since his 2001 foray into wizardry at age 12, both Radcliffe and his paycheck have matured remarkably. The actor was offered a reported $145,000 for The Sorcerer’s Stone six years ago. His most recent role earned an estimated $14 million.

Number 15: Emma Watson, $4 million
Born: Aug. 24, 1988
Her coy suggestions to the press two years ago that she may need a break from the Harry potter film franchise, in which she plays Hermione Granger, no doubt sent Warner Brothers into convulsions. For the last three flicks, including last summer’s Order of the Phoenix, she scored a substantial raise, earning an estimated $4 million per film. In July she confessed to Parade magazine that she has enough money now to never work again, adding, “but I would never want that.”

Number 16 Rupert Grint, $4 million
Born: Aug. 24, 1988
The ginger-topped Harry Potter co-star saw his salary increase substantially for this summer’s installment, Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix, which has to date grossed $938 million worldwide. Playing Potter pal Ron Weasley should set Grint up for life. He’s already filming Half-Blood Prince, with the film adaptation of the final novel, Deathly Hallows, scheduled to follow.

Dakota Blue Richards talks Emma and Dan
Posted by Megs

Dakota Blue Richards, who plays Lyra in the upcoming movie The Golden Compass, mentioned Emma and Dan in an interview for You magazine:

Probably the only children in the UK who know from first-hand experience what Dakota is about to go through are the Harry Potter kids. Before she started filming, her producers arranged for her to visit the Hogwarts set and meet Daniel Radcliffe, who plays Harry, and the rest. ‘They were about the same age as me when they first started making the Harry Potter films’ she says. ‘And meeting them helped a lot. They gave me some good tips, especially Daniel. He said, “Know who your friends are – and listen to your mum.” And he said “Whenever you feel that maybe you are feeling a bit weird and different, ask somebody who will tell you the truth – keep people around you who you know will be honest.” I think that’s very good advice. Emma [Watson], who plays Hermione, was really nice as well – we had a bit of girl bonding!

New Interviews with the Trio
Posted by Megs

Canada’s Edmonton Sun Newspaper has two new interviews online  with Dan Radcliffe, Emma Watson, Rupert Grint, David Yates and David Heyman where they discuss many things.

Dan says:

“So, to me, it’s just about letting people know that I’m incredibly serious and passionate about this — this series of films — and how much they mean to me. If you’ve been involved in something for more than seven years now, you want to be able to talk about it articulately and explain why you love it, explain why you loved being involved in it so much.”

Emma goes on to say:

For such mainstream entertainment, it has such depth. It is very complex. That’s why I wouldn’t just call it a kids’ book. I would call it an adults’ book as well because it genuinely can be read by all ages. Everything about the book, everything about J.K. Rowling’s world, is thought down to the very last detail. You can pull apart the spells and they’re Latin and they actually mean what they’re doing. And all the names are so interesting and they’re unique and different and everyone has their own history. How she’s come up with all of this is just amazing.

Rupert says:

It’s just been an amazing experience,” Grint says. “I’ve enjoyed sort of every moment of it. It’s been wicked. It’s sad, really, because it does feel that it is coming to an end now with the seventh (Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, due in 2010) on the way. It is nearly all over. I think I’m going to miss it. But I’ll just sort of move on after that.”
