Back in March we posted that Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince and some of the actors were longlisted for MTV Movie Awards, now the nominations are out and Potter is nominated for the following:
Daniel Radcliffe’s director and costar for his upcoming musical, How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying, talked to the Daily Mail about Daniel’s preparation for the show.
Daniel Radcliffe has been put under a tough regimen for his Brodway musical debut.
Rob Ashford, who has just opened Promises, Promises, will be directing Daniel in the Frank Loesser show How To Succeed In Business Without Really Trying in New York early next spring. ‘He’s singing every day with a vocal coach in London and I’ve got my assistant putting him through his dance paces every other day. I’m covering all bases with Daniel – and he’s delivering,’ Ashford told me.
Candy Spelling, who will be one of the show’s producers, told me she saw Daniel at a casting audition and a rehearsed run-through for backers and she was impressed with the nimbleness of his dance moves, and his singing voice.
Rose Hemingway, who has been cast opposite Daniel as his stage girlfriend Rosemary Pilkington, told me she did her audition with Daniel. ‘He’s been doing a lot of work and he’s going to surprise people. He’s not afraid to learn how to do things,’ the 26-year-old actress from Philadelphia said.
In addition to JK Rowling, Harry Potter actors Emma Watson, Rupert Grint and Daniel Radcliffe have made the Sunday Times Rich List of 2010! Daniel came in 5th, Emma in 10th and Rupert in 12th. Robert Pattinson, who played Cedric in Goblet of Fire, also made the list at 23rd.
Daniel Radcliffe, 20, who plays Harry Potter in the films, was ranked fifth with a fortune of £42 million. His earnings last year alone were £25.6 million according to Vanity Fair magazine.
Emma Watson, who plays Hermione Granger, was placed joint 10th with £22 million and Rupert Grint, who plays Ronald Weasley, was 12th with £20 million.
The last two films are due to be released later this year and in 2011.
The nominees for the 2010 National Movie Awards have been revealed and Harry Potter has been nominated in a few categories. Half-Blood Prince is up in the “Family” category against movies such as Up and Nanny McPhee 2. Emma Watson, Rupert Grint and Daniel Radcliffe are all up for “Performance of the Year” against the likes of Kristen Stewart, Robert Pattinson, Emma Thompson, Zoe Saldana, Sam Worthington, Johnny Depp, Helena Bonham Carter and more!
