In a new press release Sony has revealed that it will be offering a “Harry Potter 3D Experience” to those people who buy either the BDP-S780 Blu-ray Disc player with 3D or BDV-E580 Blu-ray 3D home theater system beginning on November 11th.
This will include Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 1 and 2 on BluRay 3D, a 2D BluRay version of each film AND digital vouchers to watch Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone and Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets through Video Unlimited. Additionally, the same Harry Potter 3D titles will be bundled with two pairs of Sony active 3D glasses, TDG-BR250/DBL, as a “3D starter kit.”
So fans who want to see Harry Potter in 3D in their own homes are advised to wait until November to buy a 3D player and to do so with Sony! The full press release may be read below:
Sony announced today that beginning November 11, with the purchase of select Sony 3D products, consumers will receive the “Harry Potter 3D Experience” with a Blu-ray 3D™ of the Warner Bros. blockbusters ‘Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows™ Part 1’ and ‘Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows™ Part 2.’ The exclusive bundles also include a 2D Blu-ray Disc™ of each film and digital movie vouchers to enjoy the 2D versions of Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone™ and Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets™ on compatible devices through Video Unlimited on the Sony Entertainment Network or PlayStation®Store.
