Since the film is only available in the UK, our correspondent Charlotte was kind enough to review the film for us.
In Imperium, Daniel Radcliffe plays Nate Foster, a young, driven FBI agent, who goes undercover to foil a white supremacist group, and their radical terrorist plot. A reclusive administrator, Nate is involuntarily thrust into field, at the request of his boss, Angela Zamparo (Toni Collette).
Imperium seems to be more concerned with the organizational structures of anti-Semitic groups, than the terror plots themselves. As a result, this allows for enormous character development, and an intense, dark and dramatic piece of filmography.
Whilst the plot is a slow-burner, Radcliffe’s performance is enthralling. During his first, complex scene, Nate reasons with a suspected terrorist in Arabic, once again highlighting Radcliffe’s multifaceted acting talent.
