Starz’s Camelot First Look Featuring Jamie Campbell Bower
Posted by Megs

Starz has released a first look at their upcoming show Camelot which stars Jamie Campbell Bower (Grindlewald) as King Arthur and Joseph Fiennes as Merlin.  The show premieres on April 1st on Starz.

In the wake of King Uther’s sudden death, chaos threatens to engulf Britain. When the sorcerer Merlin has visions of a dark future, he installs the young and impetuous Arthur, Uther’s unknown son and heir, who has been raised from birth as a commoner. But Arthur’s cold and ambitious half sister Morgan will fight him to the bitter end, summoning unnatural forces to claim the crown in this epic battle for control. These are dark times indeed for the new King, with Guinevere being the only shining light in Arthur’s harsh world. Faced with profound moral decisions, and the challenge of uniting a kingdom broken by war and steeped in deception, Arthur will be tested beyond imagination. Forget everything you think you know…this is the story of Camelot that has never been told before.

Ciaran Hinds Talks Filming Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2
Posted by Megs

Ciaran Hinds, who plays Aberforth Dumbledore in Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2 recently took part in an interview where he discussed his  experience on the set.  He also briefly mentioned working with Daniel Radcliffe on the set of The Woman in Black.

Ciarán – back on our screens tonight in ITV’s Above Suspicion – said: “I’ll tell you, being on set on Harry Potter was nerve-wracking. “It was surreal to be in a room with those three kids, all of whom know exactly what they’re doing. And then there’s you, who has been around for a long time, and they’re the ones putting you at ease and making sure you know what you’re doing on set. It was bizarre. But it was also really interesting to see things from that perspective. With every job, you’re typically looking for the director to make sure you’re doing the right thing but with Emma, Rupert and Daniel, that has become part of their psyche. They’ve been doing that job so long, they have such ease and an instant connection with it, and a real truthfulness.”Ciarán admits his part in Potter is a blink-and-you’ll-miss-it role. The filming schedule was chaotic, with different actors tied to different filming timelines. He said: “My scene was a four-page exposition scene about Albus Dumbledore’s childhood and how he’s not all he said he was. It’s that hole in the film that needs to be filled. Emma was starting university in America and that was made clear for the deadline of the films. They had to shoot round people’s availability. They were all committed to other things. It had to be a nightmare trying to get the schedules drawn up.”

Ciarán has also recently teamed up with Daniel in the film version of the long-running West End theatre horror The Woman In Black. He can vouch for the young man’s growth as an actor. He said: “He’s very good, but he will get better and better. He’s very committed to it, and although he’s not a bustling figure, he’s a very thoughtful and thorough professional. “He has had to do all sorts of murky stuff filming The Woman In Black and I know he has been taking singing and dancing lessons before heading off to take part in a play on Broadway. It’s not about glamour, it’s about doing things well.”

USA Potter Fans: Potter Stars Guest Starring on Merlin
Posted by Megs

For all you Harry Potter fans in the US who also enjoy the BBC show Merlin (starring Colin Morgan and Bradley James) a few Harry Potter stars will be guest starring on Season 3, which just finished airing in the UK a few weeks ago. If you haven’t seen the show, I suggest you catch up by watching the first two seasons on IMDB, its AWESOME, definitely one of my favorite shows! You can read an interview with Colin (Merlin) and Bradley (Arthur) here at collider.com. The guest appearances, in order of appearance, are as follows (I am assuming they aren’t skipping any weeks):

  • John Hurt (Ollivander) has a recurring role as The Dragon, he is seen in most episodes, though I am not sure which ones he will be in this season.
  • Mark Williams is the voice of a Goblin in episode 3, “Goblin’s Cold”, probably airing on January 21st.
  • Warwick Davis playing Grettir in episode 8, “The Eye of the Phoenix”, probably airing February 25th.
  • Miriam Margoyles will play Grunhilda in episode 6, “The Changeling” which should air on February 11th.
  • As I posted back in November, Harry Melling (Dudley Dursley) guest starred on episode 11, “The Sorcerer’s Shadow” playing Gilli. That episode probably will air March 18th.

Who else is as excited as I am for the premiere on Friday (YAY!!!!). There is a marathon that day starting at 8:30 am for anyone who is able to watch (sadly I will be at work). You can also order Season 1 and pre-order Season 2 on Amazon.

Emma Watson Talks Dating with Music Room
Posted by Megs

In a new interview with Music Room, Emma Watson talks about dating and being single.

As a result of her fame the starlet is forever linked to eligible bachelors but she is quick to dismiss the intense speculation. Emma believes that its better that she remains single for now as she’s just too busy to commit to anyone. “It’s rubbish being my boyfriend. People are constantly coming up to me, I’m always working,” she explained. “I don’t have a boyfriend at the moment. It feels good, actually. It’s nice to be selfish.”

Despite her denials Emma has to contend with constant rumours over who she may or may not be dating. The actress is happy for speculation to mount providing it doesn’t alter the public’s perception of her. “I’m never going to confirm or deny who I am dating, but if they keep doing it, the tally will get so high – not very Hermione,” she joked.

Harry Potter in 2010
Posted by Megs

Since tomorrow will be the start of 2011 I thought it was only fitting to do a recap of 2010 in Harry Potter news.  So here are some of the big things that have happened for Potter fans:

2011 will be a very exciting, and sad year for Potter fans as the movie series comes to a close, but we will always have the books ad films to look back on as well as the theme park.  And we will continue to follow the careers of all the actors.
