In a new interview with Australia’s The Chronicle, Tom Felton talks about his upcoming trip to the continent for Supernova. He also talks about his new film, Belle, and his life Post-Potter.
“I’d be lying if I said I didn’t miss [Draco]. It was a great ability to vent all the frustration and anger of day to day life through him. He was very good fun and it got more interesting as the years got on, which was nice. He went on to say that “(at the end of the series) there was an inkling of hope for him, a lot of it is left unsaid which is one of the beauties of the book. It is kind of left up to the audiences interpretation. It was nice to see some good side of him at least.”
“Right now I am working on an English period drama called Belle,” he said. “A lot of the things I have been working on the release dates are a bit up in the air for next year, so lots of things to look forward to including a film called Therese and mini TV series Labyrinth. The one I am playing now is not such a nice guy. But I won’t lie, I do enjoy playing people that aren’t so friendly or nice. But I actually have some other chances to play other things as well, one quite heroic and one very sickly meek child type role, so very different and very contrasting and I am hoping that broadens my horizons.”
For any fans wondering if the actor has been sorted on the Pottermore website, he admitted he hadn’t got that far. “We signed up ages ago when they first set up the website but I haven’t been sorted yet,” he laughed. “I am still awaiting my destiny. I don’t think I could face it if it was anything but Slytherin to be honest with you.”

As most of you will know, PlayStation is coming out with a brand new game for the PS3 called Wonderbook: Book of Spells, which will be released on November 13th. The game will be available as a bundle including the Book of Spells game, Wonderbook peripheral, PlayStation Eye camera and a PlayStation Move motion controller for $79.99. If fans wish to purchase only the game it will cost $39.99.
Yesterday our UK correspondent Patrick was lucky enough to attend the PlayStation Wonderbook: Book of Spells launch party in London. He has written up a report and sent over a few photos from the festivities which may be seen in the gallery!
The latest venture in the world of Harry Potter gaming is ‘Wonderbook’s Book of Spells’, and I was luckily enough to be invited along to the launch party for the game, on behalf of Magical Menagerie.
Along with a friend I headed down to the Freemason’s Hall in Covent Garden, which in its self is an impressive enough building, not at all out of step with the Gringotts we all know and love. But it was what the team behind the event had done inside that made the day all the more exciting!
Greeted by a fur wearing Warlock the kids lucky enough to been invited where led through the grand doors and into the smokey, colourfully lit marble halls. To the right was the chance to be photographed with an owl, above an awe-inspiring dragon and straight ahead a quick demo of how the new gamed worked, after which we were then all ushered upstairs to a space full of witches and wizards with riddles to solve, a traditional sweet shop selling everything from liquorish wands, and cupcakes to sherbet lemons! And finally there were corners where everyone got a chance to have a go of the new Playstation Game, with experienced gamers on hand to help out where ever they could. By the use of the PS3 Move System and the Wonderbook, the children were able to learn basic spells, such as Incendio, Wingardium Leviosa, Expelliarmus, and Engorgio. Not all learn them, but get a chance to see themselves on screen with no longer a controller in their hand, but a wand, emitting light as they moved it over the book.
The event seemed to be a roaring success, with children with painted faces smiling brightly as they ran from one exciting task to the next! They even put me, a 21 year old to shame, by being far superior at the Book of Spells game than I, who struggled with even the simplest of spells! With adult beverages as well as juice and smoothies for the younger ones, it was a day everyone could enjoy!
Look out for a review of the game in the coming weeks, and a big thank you to Charlie and his team at John Doe PR for having us along.
The Province interviewed Daniel Radcliffe from the set of his new film, Horns, in Canada. Some snippets from the article may be read below the full article can be read here.
“Prosthetics are amazing these days, this [his horns] is like a transfer tattoo — they just peel the backing off and it sticks,” the 23-year-old actor said. There’s a bit of touching up involved as well. Radcliffe is in the make-up chair for 45 minutes each day as the effect is created, and up close it looks uncanny, the goat-like horns seeming to rip through the skin of his forehead. In Horns, from the hit novel by Joe Hill, Radcliffe stars as Ig Perrish, a guy who wakes up with a pair of mysterious horns to find that he’s the prime suspect in his girlfriend’s death. “It’s a metamorphosis story, but the thing that excited me was that tonally it wasn’t like anything I had read,” he says. “It was both incredibly dark — like really dark and violent, and full of classic horror stuff — but also it has a very dry sense of humour.”
[…]“The nature of the horns means that any time I meet somebody, they end up telling me their deepest, darkest revelations. So even a small scene like this becomes incredibly intense.”
As to that American accent, “there are certain words — murderer is a hard word to say because there’s so many f—ing Rs in it, and girlfriend. Now, unfortunately those are two of the words I use most in this movie.”
[…]
“It’s a really cool time for me,” Radcliffe says. “I’m getting to a point where I can step back and appreciate how great this year has been.” Finished and awaiting release are the feature Kill Your Darlings, with Radcliffe as the young poet Allen Ginsberg, and the just-finished comic romance The F Word, filmed in Toronto with Canadian director Mike Dowse (Goon).
Radcliffe also filmed a role in the British TV mini-series A Young Doctor’s Notebook, starring alongside Mad Men’s Jon Hamm. “They’re all really different, they’re all interesting and weird, or have something weird about them,” Radcliffe says. “I feel like the best work I have done yet in my career, I have done this year.”
