In a new Half-Blood Prince video game demo, Tom Felton guides us and Dan Radcliffe, Bonnie Wright, Emma Watson, Kelvin Tuite (Art Director), Jonathan Bunney (Executive Producer) and Chris Roberts (Lead Designer) talk about it.
In an interview with CBBC Newsround Matt Lewis, Tom Felton, and James & Oliver Phelps discussed their thoughts on Half-Blood Prince.
Draco Malfoy actor Tom Felton said the new film is definitely much funnier. “There’s lots to look forward to,” he said. “I was laughing through the whole two hours.”
And it’s probably no surprise to fans of the Harry Potter books that Matthew thinks the story of the Half-Blood Prince isn’t that nice, in terms of what happens in it. “Every year, we always say ‘it’s much darker, this one’, but this one really is. It gets pretty heavy in parts,” he said. But the balance they’ve achieved with the comedy… the timing is wonderful. Jim Broadbent [Professor Slughorn] is superb, Rupert Grint [Ron Weasley] is on top form and it is very very funny.”
Meanwhile, away from Hogwarts, Fred and George Weasley have opened their own joke shop, but what was it like filming away from the famous school? “It was really cool because we got to work in probably the best set there,” said Oliver. “The set Fred and George have is so insane we weren’t disappointed to be away from Hogwarts at the time,” added James. “But when we saw the film I realised how much I missed the shoots in the Great Hall and on the quidditch pitch.”
Also, I asked Matthew Lewis yesterday if he had plans on going to the NYC premiere on July 9th and sadly his answer was, “I think I’m going straight off on a European tour with the film instead of NYC”. (Credit Lewis Lovers if this is reposted)

A bunch of Potter boys made it on to the Twitter Wall of Fame from the Mr Twitterverse competition! Matt Lewis is number 11, Tom Felton is number 4, James Phelps is 9 and Oliver Phelps is 10!
Bonnie Wright and James and Oliver Phelps were interviewed by Actustar and that interview can be seen below. They mention that they will begin filming Deathly Hallows in July.
Tom, Bonnie and the Phelps twins were interviewed by Metro France.
“I only saw some scenes from the film in which I appear,” says Tom Felton, “and it looks really exciting, we all wait to see it all. Draco’s role is important in it. If Harry Potter symbolizes good, Draco symbolizes evil, with the opportunity to prove it … It’s a pretty tough journey for him. The films are evolving, for sure. They become more frightening, funniest, more romantic … most appropriate to the characters! It is not just about black magic in this film, there are many jokes that fans will appreciate. ”
Bonnie Wright agrees: she plays Ginny, the youngest of the Weasley and future girlfriend of Harry. “There is a good balance in this film, I think, between the darker moments and romance. Ginny has more confidence in her, she plays Quidditch and is his first love, it was very pleasant to play.” And the famous scene of the kiss? She smiles and blushes: “I love how this scene was written, there are some very tense moments, where nothing happens, and where everybody expects it to happen, and when it happens … (Laughter.) Nothing to do with the scene where Harry kisses Cho Chang: mine is longer, it is a very special moment, the beginning of a relationship doomed to endure. ”
While traveling as the Weasley twins: “They left Hogwarts,” says Oliver Phelps, “they have their own store of jokes and hoaxes, and they are successful! We like to be the comedy of this series, our fans love us for that. ” James has also played the assistant director: “During filming, I worked behind the camera, with the team, between two scenes. Sometimes I worked from 5 am to 9 pm … Being assistant made me appreciate the different trades of the film. Making one myself? I’m too lazy for that (Laughter.)”
