New Rob Pattinson interview
Posted by Megs

MTV has a new interview with Rob Pattinson, Cedric in Goblet of Fire, where he talks about his new film Twilight and a bit about Harry Potter.

MTV: You’re the only actor to appear in both the “Harry Potter” and “Twilight” universes. Is Stephenie Meyer’s material meatier, in your opinion?

Pattinson: In a lot of ways. My character certainly is [more substantial] than the character I played in “Harry Potter” [Cedric Diggory], mainly because the entire thing is based on Edward’s character and who he is. He is very tortured and conflicted, which is very different from what I played in “Harry Potter.” But it’s a completely different style of book.

Robert Pattinson talks Twilight

In a new interview with MTV Robert Pattinson, who played Cedric Diggory in Goblet of Fire, discusses his role as Edward in the upcoming Twilight movie.

MTV: Some “Twilight” fans get angry if you compare the franchise to “Harry Potter,” while others see the similarities. How do you guys feel?
Pattinson: [The difference is that each are] using different metaphors for things. The strange thing about this is it’s so deeply entwined with sexuality, much more so than “Harry Potter,” as virtually all vampire things are — mainly because it’s a love story. “Harry Potter” isn’t really a love story, so a lot of the metaphorical stuff [in “Twilight”] is about teen lust. It’s a very erotic movie.

New Rob Interview

Robert Pattinson is featured in Evening Standard Magazine. In the article, Robert discusses his various films including Little Ashes about the life of artist Salvador Dali, “Twilight,” based on the novels by Stephenie Meyer, as well as Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire. Rob says:

“I was never a leader, and the idea of my ever being made head boy is a complete joke. I wasn’t involved in much at school, and I was never picked for any of the teams.” On the doomed fate that awaited the Hogwarts champion, the actor gave his reaction to learning the fate of his character as he noted “I looked at the other actors, and thought “God! Lucky you! You’ve got another three films guaranteed!” GoF director Mike Newell is quoted as describing Robert Pattinson: “Cedric exemplifies all that you would expect the Hogwarts’ champion to be. Robert Pattinson was born to play the role; he’s quintessentially English, with chislled public schoolboy good looks.”
