Pottermore has announced this morning that they will be launching a Wizarding World Book Club with Bloomsbury and Scholastic this June to mark the 20th anniversary of Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone! The book club will include online discussions via Twitter and Pottermore’s website.

The Wizarding World Book Club kicks off in June, and to take part you just need to read (or re-read) a Harry Potter book each month – or more, as the books get longer. You can then join in a conversation about it on Twitter, or simply check Pottermore to learn more about each story.

Whether you’re a newcomer, or have read the books a thousand times over, the Wizarding World Book Club is the place for everyone to join the discussion on each of the seven Harry Potter stories.

There will be many ways to participate too. Each week, a new theme from the Harry Potter stories will be discussed over on Pottermore’s brand new Wizarding World Book Club Twitter account, @WWBookClub.

As we posted when the Harry Potter and the Cursed Child script book was first announced, there will be a “Definitive Edition” released later this year. This second edition, Harry Potter and the Cursed Child, Parts One and Two: The Official Playscript of the Original West End Production, will be published July 25, 2017.  According to Amazon:

This revised paperback edition updates the “special rehearsal edition” with the conclusive and final dialogue from the play, which has subtly changed since its rehearsals, as well as a conversation piece between director John Tiffany and writer Jack Thorne, who share stories and insights about reading playscripts. This edition also includes useful background information including the Potter family tree and a timeline of events from the wizarding world prior to the beginning of Harry Potter and the Cursed Child.

Additionally, the Cursed Child site announced that another wave of tickets will be released on April 25th. Three months of advance tickets will be released for sale on Tuesday 25 April 2017, at 11am BST, for performances from 2 May 2018 –  22 July 2018. Tickets are priced from £15 per part and for every performance there will be over 300 tickets at £20 or less per part.

Bloomsbury has sent over the cover for the illustrated edition of Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban. Once again Jim Kay does beautiful artwork showcasing the Knight Bus. Pottermore have also posted a few additional illustrations that you can see in the gallery. The book will be published in hardback on 3rd October 2017 (£30)and a Deluxe edition will also available (£150).

Bloomsbury has revealed the EIGHT new covers for Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone to celebrate the book’s 20th anniversary. Bloomsbury Publishing is excited to unveil the covers of the eagerly anticipated 20th Anniversary House editions of J.K. Rowling’s Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone.

Illustrated by Levi Pinfold, Kate Greenaway Medal winner, the front covers feature the crest for each Hogwarts house in vibrant house colours. Levi took his inspiration from traditional heraldry and coats of arms and combined this with typical characteristics of each house to create crests that embody the values of the house. Publishing in celebration of the 20th anniversary, 26th June 2017, there are complementary hardback and paperback jackets of Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone. The hardbacks will be black with the house crest in a house colour and striped sprayed edges. The paperbacks will reverse the house colour theme and have single colour sprayed edges. Both editions will contain fascinating facts about the houses of Hogwarts, and three specially commissioned house illustrations from Levi Pinfold per book. Rowling (writing as Newt Scamander), inside illustrations from Tomislav Tomic, and a new jacket by Jonny Duddle. There will also be new creatures included in the book!x As with the original edition from 2001, proceeds benefit Comic Relief and also Lumos.

Bloomsbury Publishing has revealed new covers for The Tales of Beedle the Bard and Quidditch Through the Ages. The jackets, which are illustrated by Harry Potter cover artist Jonny Duddle, show new images from both books. Both new editions are published on 12th January 2017 in hardback and paperback formats.

The front cover of The Tales of Beedle the Bard shows a wizard being chased by the hopping pot, and the front cover of Quidditch Through the Ages features Roderick Plumpton who famously caught the Golden Snitch within three and a half seconds in 1921.

The Tales of Beedle the Bard and Quidditch Through the Ages are based on books from the Harry Potter series, and were written by J.K. Rowling in aid of charity: Quidditch Through the Ages in aid of Comic Relief, and The Tales of Beedle the Bard in aid of J.K. Rowling’s children’s charity Lumos.
