Bonnie Wright Interview

UGO Movie Blog has a new interview with Bonnie Wright!

This movie is genuinely scary. Was there a definite vibe on set of something a little more adult than previous ones?
“Yes, definitely. There are some pretty violent scenes. The Horcrux cave when Harry fights the Inferi, that is definitely frightening. And I’m glad that David did it that way. These are children’s books, but the characters grow and progress, and there has to be some new adult subject matter introduced. It can’t be as childish as the earlier movies.”

And you’re filming the final movie, or movies?
“Yes, I’ll be done in September.”

And what does life after Potter look like for you?
“I’ll be going to film school in London, this fall. I’m very excited.”

Thanks BWO!

Bonnie Wright Interview

The LA Times has posted a new interview withBonnie Wright.

DM: Do you remember how you felt when you read “The Half-Blood Prince”?
BW: I wasn’t fully expecting what happened. Ginny had grown up so much in the sixth book, and what happens between her and Harry? I just couldn’t have imagined that would happen. She started out so shy and young, and in this book she’s gotten so much more confident and noticed. She finds herself and it’s the first time you realize why she becomes the person who ends up with Harry.

DM: Has it hit you yet that the films are coming to an end?
BW: Yeah, you really cherish being on set even more. I’ve got a while yet. It probably won’t really hit me until the last few months of filming. It’s been so long for us all but I think it will be sad when we finish. I had a similar experience reading the last book. I was quite sad. I’ll miss being on set with all the people, and that energy. It’s such a big crew and big cast, so many characters. The energy is just amazing on set. And we’ve all gotten to work with so many of the greats. In terms of British film, you’ve probably got half of the great actors, and cameramen, and crew. Everyone is the top of their field on the film. “Sorcerer’s Stone” was the first film I ever did, so I definitely jumped in on the deep end.

DM: Have you made post-Potter plans?
BW: I still want to continue acting. I start going to university in September and I’m studying film and television and acting. So, not just acting, but also directing and producing and how it all complements each other in the industry. I want to study the big picture.

Tom Felton, Bonnie Wright and James & Oliver Phelps interview
Posted by Megs

A new video interview with Tom Felton (Draco Malfoy), Bonnie Wright (Ginny Weasley) and James & Oliver Phelps (Fred & George Weasley) has emerged at Orange France. Thanks UHP and also read a translation below thanks to SS.

Bonnie : There are so many fans who read the books and they wish that what occurs in the books, be also in the films. We want to develop the characters such as JK Rowling wrote them.

Oliver : It’s funny to see the characters evolving differently from what people imagined. With all their jokes, they are supposed to become entrepreneurs, open a big shop and to gain lot of money. It’s really very exciting !

Tom : Why is Draco such a problematic child? His father is obviously an obvious reason, because he was persecuted in his youth by the father of Harry.

Bonnie : There are many pressures to carry out all the dreams of the fans. When the first films had left the fans were 11 years old, and now they are approximately 20 years old. They await something more adult, but there are always children who look at films of Harry Potter and that you cannot forget. In this one, there is much darker elements, but also much humour.

Tom : Draco is too busy to think about the girls! He had a girlfriend in this one but he is really too busy.

Then the journalists ask them what magical stuff they would have in real life :

James : I would use an invisibility cloak like Harry, it would be really very useful sometimes!
Bonnie : I would not choose a spell but more a capacity: that to be able to appear and disappear wherever by clicking my fingers.
Oliver: I would use the watch which allows you to speed up the time, that would be really brilliant !
Tom: The broom! Imagine we could fly to England on a broom, it would really change the world as we know it!

Bonnie Interview and Photoshoot
Posted by Megs

There is aa new interview with actress Bonnie Wright (Ginny Weasley) from the Harry Potter movies where she talks about her education, working on the films and with fellow actors. There is also a GORGEOUS new photoshoot of her.  You can see the photoshoot over at SoBonnie!

It was slightly embarrassing because on set everyone knew that it was The Day when we’d kiss,’ she admits. It was definitely a case of “pass the mints”. But at the moment of the scene, everything just worked. Ginny kind of initiates what happens between her and Harry. He doesn’t really know what to do because she’s his best friend’s sister, so she takes the lead. It was very calm and romantic.’

The first audition, in [producer] David Heyman’s office, was kind of strange, as I didn’t have any lines really,’ she confesses. And I had no idea of getting the part since there were probably loads of more experienced kids who’d been acting since the age of two.’ Eventually, her parents were told that she’d landed the role. We were in the car, going to our house on the south coast, and you know when you can tell that your parents have something to say to you? They were just silent for ages, as if they were about to announce they were getting a divorce. When they finally told me, I remember screaming out of the window all the way up the motorway. I was ecstatic.’
