LA Times has a new interview up with Matt Lewis where he talks about Harry Potter and more!
JP: How’s the relationship between all of you actors who have grown up together on the set?
ML: Well, people ask me that question all the time. And you’d expect me to say ‘Oh yeah, everyone gets on great’ — but no one really believes me. You know, if you stick a lot of people together at such a young age and for such a long time, you automatically expect there to be arguments — you expect there to be fallouts and for people to not get on. But somehow, remarkably, we all just get on so well. It’s been a fantastic nine years really, and I’m looking forward to the next couple.
We spend time with each other off the set. We like the same sorts of music, we all have the same sort of sense of humor and comedy likes … we just get on so great. I think it really shows on camera. You know when James and Oliver Phelps, who play the Weasley twins, and Rupert, who plays Ron, when they’re in scenes, a lot of the banter that they have as brothers is ad-libbed, and they can do that kind of stuff because they just get along so well.
Actor Bill Nighy (Davy Jones in Pirates of the Caribbean) has confirmed that he will play a good guy in the Deathly Hallows films. He has not revealed the name of his character.
Bill Nighy has an announcement. “I don’t think I’m allowed to say it but I’m going to be in the next Harry Potter film,” he tells us. “I won’t say which character, but he’s a goodie. I just got the gig.” If you don’t mind us saying, it’s about time, Bill. The rangy actor has been dropping hints for aeons, once complaining that he was “the only British actor who hasn’t been in Harry Potter“. But has he read the books? “Not yet, but I will!” he says. “It’s rather like being in a Shakespeare that way, you know?” Mm.
Thanks to my friend Michael for letting me know that he pre-bought his Half-Blood Prince tickets and the runtime is listed at 2 hours and 55 minutes! I am not positive this is correct, but if the theater has it listed at that, it is probably true. So thats good news!
James & Oliver Phelps (Fred & George Weasley) will be attending a Half-Blood Prince premiere in Finland next month. The event will take place in Helsinki on July 16th. It starts at Tennispalatsi at 4:30pm and the movie wish start at 6pm.
