New Scene in HBP
Posted by Megs

In an interview with the Herald Sun, one of the Harry Potter producers, David Barron told them of a new scene added to Half-Blood Prince. I am posting the segment where he explains it below, if you do not wish to know spoilers for Half-Blood Prince just skip over the quoted text.

This was brought in because Jo (Rowling) was able throughout the quite lengthy book to keep dropping little snippets of what was happening in the outside world – there’d be people reading newspapers and talking about how somebody’s parents had been killed, or somebody had been withdrawn from school because their parents didn’t think it was safe.

And we’re making aware that that the Muggle world is also experiencing these disasters, but thinks they are disasters rather than the work of Voldemort.  The book is peppered with those moments, but we couldn’t do that quite so easily in the film.  So (the extra scene) comes in the middle of the film and it just reminds us the world is no longer a safe place. Even in what would normally be considered the safe haven of the Burrows, nobody’s safe. I think you’ll like it. It’s quite effective.”

David Yates to Direct DH?
Posted by Megs

There is a new report online today giving us reason to believe that Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix / Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince director David Yates will finish the series up by directing Deathly Hallows!

Bad news from The Giver Movie front. David Yates, the director currently working on the next Harry Potter film, was supposed to begin The Giver film next. But he has just decided he wants to do the final Harry Potter first, thereby postponing The Giver by several years.

Hopefully this is true because Order of the Phoenix was the best of the movies in my opinion (but Prisoner of Azkaban is close behind it) so it would be great if he directed again.

WB has NOT confirmed this, so we will treat it as a rumour until they do.

Thanks Leaky!
