Kathimerini.gr has a new interview with Evanna Lynch and Tom Felton, which they did while promoting Half-Blood Prince in Greece.
Felton, 21, who plays the “bad” Draco Malfoy from 2001 paints his hair to platinum blond from brown hair in order to maintain the image of the role. And the viciousness is convincing. “I have acquired such a bad reputation, when children come in shooting, I’m the only one they do not want to meet,” he says. “I have fun playing the villain. Thankfully in this film my role becomes more interesting, because to tell the truth, it was rather two-dimensional in previously.”
Unlike Felton who had not read any Harry Potter book prior to when he got the role, the 18 year old Evanna Lynch, who plays the role of Luna, was a fanatical book fan of JK Rowling. The dedication of the series was such as to exclude other candidates for the role in auditions held. The Half-Blood Prince is the second film in which she plays and now just starting to adjust. “In the previous film I felt very strange because I felt that I do not belong there. I saw everyone else as a star. I was such a loyal fan who could not believe that I participated in these films.”

J.K. Rowling has contributed to a celebrity hand display which will help raise funds for Tilly Lockey, a young girl who needs prosthetic limbs that will need replacing every year until she is 18. The pictures and casts will go on display at Newcastle’s Life centre for one day and then will be put up for auction at an event on September 5th. The exhibit is free of charge.
Sarah Lockey said: “We have all of these wonderful quirky and unique drawings and hand casts created by celebrities to help us raise funds for Tilly. These will be auctioned at a dinner in September but we wanted to share them with as many people as possible before they become part of someone’s private collection.”
Thanks SS!

While promoting Half-Blood Prince in Greece Tom Felton and Evanna Lynch were interviewed by MSN.gr. We have a rough translation but if anyone can do a better job let me know!
What is the secret of the success of both films Harry Potter»and books?
Tom: There are many things. Without doubt, the first is the story described in the book. The story is everything. But I think also part of the success comes from the fact that Harry is a normal boy uprooted from the natural world. Also, things which concern the characters are very human. The conflict of moral to immoral, the good and evil is always very good foundation for human stories.
Many say they see Luna in you. In what ways are you like Luna?
Evanna: Yeah, I know many say that and I take it as a compliment because I respect Luna too. She has inspired me and has an excellent philosophy where she remains calm and unaffected, which I am trying to adopt too. I never worry and never angry because I think she believes in fate and that everything happens for a reason. I also like that are very perceptive and know that people say that it is in its own world but not disappointed at all.

In a new article by Forbes found on MSN , Daniel Radcliffe is among the actors who are the “Best Actors for the Buck”. Also included on the list are Shia LaBeouf, James McAvoy, Christian Bale and more.
Harry Potter’s Daniel Radcliffe, 20, is the youngest man in the top 10. He earns much more for his work in the Warner Bros films than some of his fellow actors, but the Harry Potter movies make such spectacular gobs of money that his salary turns out to be a good return on investment. For every dollar Warner pays Radcliffe, his films earn $93.
Studios like to be able to replace a franchise star at their whim. That way they don’t have to pay him much. But as Harry Potter, Daniel Radcliffe has made himself indispensable. That’s helped his payday without hurting his return on investment number, mostly because the Harry Potter movies do so well. To date they have earned $5.3 billion at the worldwide box office with two more movies in the pipeline.
