JKR has updated her site to say she will be touring the US in October.

In October I will be touring the USA for the first time since 2000. The Tour will include four events, three to be held for schoolchildren in Los Angeles, New Orleans and New York City and one event in New York City for any U.S. Harry Potter fan who wins a ticket through a sweepstakes to be held by Scholastic, my US publishers. At each event, I will read from Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, the seventh and final book in the Harry Potter series, answer questions about the entire series, and sign copies of the latest book.

Scholastic will launch the J.K. Rowling and the Open Book Tour Sweepstakes on July 30, 2007. Visit www.scholastic.com/harrypotter beginning July 30 for information on how to enter and complete rules.

In July JKR will be giving 2 TV interviews. The first is on the Jonathon Ross show in the UK. The second is on the Today Show in the US.

The one-woman publishing phenomenon and author of iconic literary creation Harry Potter appears on Friday 6 July at 10.35pm.

In her only television interview after the highly-anticipated release of the 7th and final installment in the Harry Potter series, author J.K. Rowling will sit down with NBC’s Meredith Vieira in her home city Edinburgh, Scotland. This exclusive interview marks the first time she will talk about the worldwide reaction to the final Harry Potter volume and the much anticipated and guessed-about Potter finale, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows. Rowling will also discuss her future plans beyond the best-selling series. The interviews will air on Today, Thursday, July 26 and Friday, July 27 and on Dateline, Sunday, July 29.

JK Rowling, Emma Watson (Hermione) and Ralph Fiennes (Voldemort) attended a dinner for the Raisa Gorbachev Foundation in London this evening.

All proceeds from the event benefit the Raisa Gorbachev Centre of Children’s Hematology and Transplantology in St Petersburg and entertainment was provided by Elton John and the Scissor Sisters.
