The Today Show put up part one of their interview with JK Rowling.
Rowling said her original epilogue was “a lot more detailed,” including the name of every child born to the Weasley clan in the past 19 years.
“I’m dealing with a level of obsession in some of my fans that will not rest until they know the middle names of Harry’s great-great-grandparents,” she said. Not that she’s discouraging the Potter devotion! (that would be me)

USA Today has a new interview with JKR out. She talks about DH so if you haven’t read the book don’t go to the article. I won’t put spoilers in this little part.
Rowling — who recalls sobbing as she finished writing the final Potter book — appears relaxed and happy after a 17-year stretch in which she produced the seven Potter books that became a lifeblood to booksellers and attracted millions of young fans.
“I’m sort of writing two things at the moment,” she says. “One is for children and the other is not for children. The weird thing is that this is exactly the way I started writing Harry. I was writing two things simultaneously for a year before Harry took over. So one will oust the other in due course, and I’ll know that’s my next thing.”

A fan who went to JKRs moonlight singing has talked about her experience and how it was to meet Jo.
There was no press at the Q&A so I will tell you that the 34th chapter made her cry, she almost named the book after the 32nd chapter, her favorite character is undoubtedly Harry, and her least favorite character is Uncle Vernon because he has no redeeming qualities. All of this info came right from her mouth to my ears.

There is a small preview article of JKR on the Today where she talks about the book, the character that got a reprieve and writing an encylcopedia. She had this to say about the encylcopedia:
The encyclopedia would include back stories of characters she has already written but had to cut for the sake of narrative arc (“I’ve said before that Dean Thomas had a much more interesting history than ever appeared in the books”), as well as details about the characters who survive “Deathly Hallows,” characters who continue to live on in Rowling’s mind in a clearly defined magical world.
It’s now time to sit back for a bit and enjoy the life that Harry has given her, Rowling said. And, when she’s ready, there’s always that encyclopedia waiting in the wings.
“I’m not going to do it tomorrow because I’d really like a break,” Rowling said, laughing. “So you may be waiting.”
