JKR Talks More HP
Posted by Megs

J.K.Rowling was recently presented with the James Joyce award at the University College in Dublin. While she was there she read from Deathly Hallows and answered questions! See the full transcript in English and Spanish HERE or click MORE below.

Did you ever seriously consider killing Harry in book 7?

Oh yeah ! Yes, of course, but I considered it way back in the beginning, not as the series went on. I never deviated, once I decided what the end was going to be, I never thought, “oh I will, I’ll kill him”. But right from the beginning, it took seven years between having the idea for Harry and publishing Philosopher’s Stone, I did consider having him die, and I have said before that in some ways it would have been a neater ending. But he was, he is my hero. And I wanted my hero to do what I consider to be the most noble thing.

New JKR Interview!!!!
Posted by Megs

Remember that interview I posted about yesterday? Well now the original article in english is online at Facebook!

Still, it must feel great to know that the Harry Potter books are adored by children and adults alike, that it has become a classic in a sense, and that it will be passed down for generations. “It’s an amazing feeling. Actually what you said last is the most incredible feeling.” My friend admits that she will indeed read the books to her children, prompting a noticeable wave of unbridled joy to overcome the author. “That is the most meaningful thing to me. I said that to my husband a couple of days ago because I’d received a letter that said something like that and I said to him, what an amazing thing to hear. The other wonderful thing to hear, I’ve had a few letters saying it, that the whole family would get together, read a chapter together, and then they’d all go off and they’d agree to read the next two on their own and then they’d meet again to read the next chapter together.”

JKR talks more about HP
Posted by Megs

Harry Latino was recently given access to the complete interview that Rowling granted weeks ago in Starbucks. JK Rowling discussed the trio’s reaction to the Death Veil in Order of the Phoenix and more.  And I translated this roughly with an online translator and my own knowledge from spanish class, ha ha, but if someone who knows both English and Spanish wants to translate it better please feel free to send it in!

The journalist maintains the conversation about Albus Severus Potter:  “God, what a load to give a boy those two names.  Absolutely cruel, right?”, she laughs.  Not only because they are horrendous names but the history that there is behind them.  But no, I am not planning this.  I have said repeatedly that perhaps in ten years”.
