According to PerezHilton.com, JK Rowling has filed a lawsuit against the publisher of the London Star Map.
The celebrity map reportedly has details of the Harry Potter author’s London residence and clear instructions on how to get there, something Rowling considers ‘a gross invasion of privacy’. In a statement, J.K. Rowling said, “The sole aim of London Star Map is self-evidently to incite, encourage and enable members of the public to track down and locate the exact location of private residences of various recognisable “celebrities” so that they can visit those residences.” Rowling continued, “I’m a very private individual who regards my family’s privacy and safety as having paramount importance. ”
At this point I am not sure if this is true, if it is proven to be false I will post an update.

After playing around with a number of different ideas I decided to write a short (for me!) excerpt from a prequel to the Potter series. It is about 800 words long and the action takes place around 3 years before Harry is born
Although I did feel a bit like a relapsing addict as I sat down to write – the words poured from my pen with frightening ease – I am NOT working on a prequel. Indeed, I’ve written that clearly at the bottom of the card itself. I just thought that this was the best way to make money for two extremely worthwhile charities.
J.K. Rowling has written an 800-word prequel to the Harry Potter series which will be auctioned off as part of English Pen.
The handwritten short story, featuring the fictional wizard’s father James and his friend Sirius Black in their younger years, fills both sides of a piece of A5 card and is signed by the author.
Jo states that she does not intend to write an entire story around the prequel. The plot of the story is being kept secret. A copy of the story will be available for everyone to read online the day after the auction takes place on June 11th, at Waterstone’s bookstores and on their official site.
