An Interview with Nat. The new Lavendar Brown?
Posted by Megs

I just spoke to one of my friends from the United Kingdom. She told me that she went to the open auditions for Lavendar Brown, so I asked if I could interview her about her experience. And she said yes! So thank you very much Natalie!

Megan: What was the best part about going to the audition?
Nat: Er…the experience and getting to meet the casting people of Harry Potter. The whole vibe there was amazing. Everyone would look you up and down as you passed and you could tell they were thinking “Ooh could she get the part? “. But yeah, the casting people were awsome, very polite and supportive. You know, these are the people who have casted all the characters so far. I’m just glad I got to be there.

Lavender Casting Call
Posted by Megs

According to Veritaserum over 7,000 girls showed up for the Lavender Brown Open Casting call I told you about a while ago.

After waiting for hours in line outside, the girls were seen by two Harry Potter casting directors in groups of 30. They said their name, age, and an interesting fact about themselves while holding up a large whiteboard with their name written on it. Some groups were dismissed entirely, while one or two girls in other groups were asked to proceed to the next round.

At the next round, the girls read from a scene with Hermione, Madam Pomfrey, and Lavender (presumably after Ron’s near-death experience in Slughorn’s office) from the Half-Blood Prince script for about a minute. There were no further rounds at today’s auditions. Those few girls who will make it to the third round of call backs will find out within the next two to three days

Thanks Veritaserum!

New David Yates Interview
Posted by Megs

There is a new David Yates interview online.

When Yates starts shooting Half Blood Prince later on this year, JK Rowling will have the time to hang out on set, given that there are no more Harry Potter books to be written. ‘Jo is actually going to come and join us for a few days and talk through the script. I’m really looking forward to having her around; she’s grown up enough to say that the film is a separate entity to the book so she always leaves the director to get on with his job. Having said that, she has great ideas and insights.’
