The Big Issue has posted a new interview with Rupert Grint and Daniel Radcliffe. They talk about the fame that Harry Potter has given them as well as swapping their costumes for the streets and selling The Big Issue.
“Going out and selling The Big Issue would undoubtedly be a challenge, especially for me and Rupert,” explains Radcliffe, winner of Best Actor in a Play for Broadway-bound The Cripple of Inishmaan. “But it would be a positive and edifying experience and I’d be happy to support The Big Issue in any way.
“I’d love to try selling The Big Issue, absolutely,” added West End debutant Grint, winner of the same London Newcomer of the Year for Mojo that Radcliffe scooped in 2008. “I can’t imagine how difficult a job it is for these guys out on the street. I was terrified about how I would handle the play before it started but I gave it my best and I’d certainly give this a go too.”
On fame, Daniel said:
“We’ve lived our lives in a certain bubble, which has changed the way people relate and talk to you,” Radcliffe said of himself and fellow Hogwarts alumnus Rupert Grint. “As actors we are afforded a certain attitude towards us, and this is a very privileged way to walk through the world. To swap that and get a taste for how a huge amount of people are treated in the world would be a rewarding experience.”

Variety is reporting that Daniel Radcliffe’s film, formerly titled “The F Word”, has been given a US release date of August 1st. CBS Films have also renamed the film, it is now What If. The film will release in New York and Los Angeles on that date and expand to more theatres during the next two weekends.
Directed by Michael Dowse (“Goon”), “The F Word” stars Daniel Radcliffe as a medical school dropout and romantic who meets an animator, played by Zoe Kazan. The relationship clicks, despite the fact that she is already living with her boyfriend (Rafe Spall).

In a new interview with The Telegraph Daniel Radcliffe talks about his role as Igor in Frankenstein. In their quick interview he talks about his longer hair for the film:
“I don’t mind how it looks but I mind dealing with it. I don’t know why any man would have it voluntarily,” he laughed. “The amount of work it takes, having to dry it – doing anything to it is a f—— nightmare. I do have a whole new sympathy for women. I wouldn’t be growing my hair this long in my own time.” He added: “I actually don’t mind it because there’s something really fun about looking totally different and seeing yourself that way. But it’s not a permanent change.”
Of his win at the What’sOnStage Awards he said:
He told the Telegraph: “It’s very lovely to win. We were blessed with amazing audience the whole way through the run. It’s also kind of crazy to me to be nominated against James and Ben. Watching them was very formative in my experience of theatre – Ben in Hamlet, James in loads of things but particularly Privates on Parade. They were just amazing so to be in a category alongside them is just surreal.”
He also talks about The Cripple of Inishmaan:
“I had a meeting with Michael about wanting to do a play in London. He gave me five plays to read, one of which was Cripple of Inishmaan, and immediately I knew I wanted to be part of it,” Radcliffe said. “It was a real luxury, a dream position as an actor.”
The Cripple of Inishmaan is a departure from his previous work. “It’s a darker comedy than I’ve ever done before. It’s breahtakingly cruel at times and that’s one of the things that’s so exciting about it and gets audiences so vocal. They’re shocked a lot of the time. I just think it’s a beautifully written play and I’m excited about taking it to Broadway.”
