Daniel Radcliffe and Director James Watkins will be in central London this weekend to welcome the audience to two screenings of their gothic chiller THE WOMAN IN BLACK which will be released nationwide from 10^th February 2012. For those fans who missed the chance to see Dan at the Worldwide Premiere last month, this is a fantastic opportunity to see the star as he and James personally introduce both screenings. The screenings will be on February 11th at the following times and venues:

THE WOMAN IN BLACK is based on the world famous ghost story by Susan Hill.  The film follows the fate of Arthur Kipps (Daniel Radcliffe), a lawyer who is forced to leave his young son and travel to a remote village to attend to the affairs of the recently deceased owner of Eel Marsh House.

Working alone in the old mansion, Kipps begins to uncover the town’s tragic and tortured secrets and his fears escalate when he discovers that local children have been disappearing under mysterious circumstances.  When those closest to him are threatened, Kipps must find a way to break the cycle of terror.

THE WOMAN IN BLACK also stars Ciaran Hinds (TINKER, TAILOR, SOLDIER, SPY) and Janet McTeer (TUMBLEWEEDS) and was adapted from Susan Hill’s best-selling novel for the screen by Jane Goldman (KICK ASS) and directed by James Watkins (EDEN LAKE).

THE WOMAN IN BLACK will be released across the UK and Ireland by Momentum Pictures, an Alliance Films company, on 10^th February 2012.

The new issue of Watch! magazine, which  hit newsstands last week, includes a brand new interview with Daniel Radcliffe. He  discusses his role in this film, why he quit drinking and life after Harry Potter. Some snippets from the interview may be read below:

“For the first time, I’m feeling nervous about a film coming out,” admits the actor of the supernatural thriller distributed by CBS Films, scheduled to open Feb. 3. “With Potter, you knew it was going to do well. There was a preexisting fan base. But with this, there’s that fear in the back of my mind that no one will really care.”

“I read the script just about two hours after we finished filming the last Potterfilm,” says Radcliffe, “and I thought it was the most compelling story. At the beginning of the film, [Arthur] is a deeply unhappy character in a state of emotional paralysis. But when it really gets going, he’s forced to come out of that and be an active participant in his own life.” It also didn’t hurt that the script scared the daylights out of him. “From the first page when he’s in the house with the woman in black, I was going, ‘Get out! Run! Don’t ever go back!’ ” he says with a laugh.

“I’m very ambitious,” says Radcliffe, who harbors dreams of directing one day. “In the back of my mind, there are always voices telling me what I have to achieve. That drives me on, along with other people thinking that I won’t be able to achieve those things.” He lets loose a hearty laugh. “I find other people’s doubts incredibly motivational.”

Daniel Radcliffe has been making the rounds on various television shows over the past couple of weeks to promote his film The Woman in Black. Today he appeared on Extra. Daniel arrived to a massive crowd of fans at The Grove to chat with “Extra‘s” Mario Lopez, and talked about the film. “I play a young lawyer called Arthur Kipps, who is sent away to organize the paperwork of a recently deceased woman. Once I get to the house, all hell breaks loose and I am tormented by the ghost of an angry, vengeful woman.”

Daniel also answered some fan questions, including a proposal!

Daniel Radcliffe made an appearance on “The Ellen DeGeneres Show” on Thursday, February 2, 2012.  Ellen and Daniel talk about the Super Bowl and make a $5,000 bet with the proceeds going to the Trevor Project.
