More Revealed about "The Beedle and the Bard"
Posted by Megs

Some more news on “The Beedle and the Bard”. Scholastic, the US publisher, has revealed more about the Dumbledore notes. It is said to reveal “not just his vast knowledge of Wizarding lore, but also more of his personal qualities: his sense of humor, his courage, his pride in his abilities, and his hard-won wisdom.” We will also learn more about “Aberforth Dumbledore, Lucius Malfoy and his family, and Sir Nicholas de Mimsy-Porpington (or “Nearly Headless Nick”), as well as other professors at Hogwarts and the past owners of the Elder Wand. Dumbledore tells us of incidents unique to the Wizarding world, like hilariously troubled theatrical productions at Hogwarts or the dangers of having a “hairy heart.” But he also reveals aspects of the Wizarding world that his Muggle readers might find all too familiar, like censorship, intolerance, and questions about the deepest mysteries in life.”

Beedle the Bard to be Published!!!
Posted by Megs

JK Rowling has updated her site to tell us all that Beedle the Bard will be published! She says “Royalties will be donated to the Children’s High Level Group, to benefit institutionalised children in desperate need of a voice. The new edition will include the Tales themselves, translated from the original runes by Hermione Granger, and with illustrations by me, but also notes by Professor Albus Dumbledore, which appear by generous permission of the Hogwarts Headmasters’ Archive.'”

You can go to Amazon to read more, because that is the only place it is being sold, it comes out December 4th! There will be a Collector’s Edition for $100 (I am going to have to save up for this one) and a Standard Edition for $7.79.

Thanks Deathly Collector!!!

‘Our Deathly Hallows’
Posted by Megs

I have been contacted by the folks at Our Deathly Hallows, they told me about their awesome idea to celebrate Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows.  Their site is only a teaser right now until the full site is up.

It is a fansite, completly unofficial, where we want to honour J.K. Rowling by selecting our favourite Chapter, Person and Invention from the Harry Potter-Universe she has created.
Today, one year after Deathly Hallows, we just want to announce and start phase one: Calling out for Harry Potter-fans. We want as much Harry Potter-fans as possible to participate with us.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY DEATHLY HALLOWS!
Posted by Megs

Wow, I can’t believe it has been a year since Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows came out! I can still remember the day. I was so mad because I had to go to a family reunion that day so I couldn’t read the book until later. So I read from 7pm until 7am, then went to church at 8 and stayed up until my normal bedtime the next day (midnight  ). It took me 10 hours 44 minutes and 17 seconds, I still have the time on my timer haven’t reset it yet. I was so dead.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY DEATHLY HALLOWS!!!

Vote For the Gretest Song, Film and Book!
Posted by Megs

I just recieved an email from Poll the People:

We have recently helped launched a website to invite the public to vote for their Top 5 films (albums and books) in an evolving poll to find the Greatest Albums etc of all time. The site was borne out of frustration at the number of TV and press polls based on very little research or the opinions of a few journalists. So now we want to give the people a chance to have their say and vote for their favourite albums (films and books) to create a truly definitive global poll.

So go HERE to vote! Deathly Hallows is in the Number 1 book spot so far, HBP is at 12, PoA at 23, GoF 36, OotP 41. None of the movies are in the top 50 so VOTE!!!!
