I’m sure all of you remember the tragic night that we heard that newcomer to the Potter films, Robert Knox (Marcus Belby) had been stabbed to death.  Now his father along with some celebrities are making a film in honor of him.  No plot details about the film have been released, we only know it is an anti-crime film.  A trailer is expected to be screened at the Charlton Athletic Rob Knox Memorial event on October 15.

Rob’s father Colin, of Ingress Park, Greenhithe, is executive producer of Cold Kiss. Rob and Jamie’s drama school friend, Aaron Truss, is producing the film with director Nirpal Bhogal from Dustlight Films.

“It is not only a great privilege and honour to work with him but it is a project so close to my heart. Colin [Rob’s father] said he wanted to give us money to get the film off the ground as we had an idea about an anti-knife crime film. When he suggested approaching Ray Winstone we both thought ‘that’s not going to happen’. We were blown away by his response. Ray is a very charitable man, and is quite outspoken about knife crime, having known people devastated by it, including Rob’s family.  The best thing is everyone is working for free, Ray included. We all want this to work desperately and portray the message that using a knife is never the right answer.”

He is keeping the plot a secret but said it was a gritty film, with Ray and Jamie starring side by side. The duo shot scenes in a cell at Elmley Prison, with the content largely created through prison visits. Further scenes not featuring the Brit actor were shot in Harlow on Tuesday.

Rest in Peace, Rob.
